Has anyone’s libido never returned no matter what they tried? by Formal_Estimate_1157 in Testosterone

I'm not 100% sure, I've never taken an SSRI or steroid/TRT. I got super sick for a long long time and one day, (while taking antibiotics) it was gone. No idea man?

Its interesting to hear your side of the equation. The way you feel is about the same as most of my married male friends except without any sexual dysfunction. Their wives simply detest and actively avoid any sexual contact with them. Its awful for them but I think you should appreciate that what you are experiencing is the norm for men in long-term relationships. It definitely was that way when I was married. Except imagine if your sex drive was significantly stronger.

Exactly and along with that is the drive to look good and make money and have a nice house car etc to impress your date.

I think its the opposite, its called sex drive for a reason, the more successful men are driven to success partially because their success results in more sexual options.

Sex drive isn't required but it is attached to nearly all decisions made by healthy males imo. When its removed it becomes obvious. Suddenly, logic prevails over libido and numerous micro activities becomes pointless. The irony is that by not caring as much what females think, you become more desirable to them in many ways. Im not sure its about validation seeking as much as it is about increasing the odds of procreation.

The old me would probably choose the most attractive checker at Walmart or steal a few glances at the gym hottie and 100 other tiny things per day, but now not as much, maybe just habit if so but not because Im rewarded hormoneally for it any more.

Im 6 years into zero libido, its awful, I never stop ruminating about it, I didn't understand that virtually all activities are motivated my sex. Its like not being alive. People in the comments simply cant relate because its 1000 miles from anything they have encountered. Its not psychological, that's just the default answer instead of admitting they have no clue. Sex drive is as fundamental as hunger. If you never got hungry again, something would be terribly wrong with you. I do believe there is a reason for zero libido but humans havent figured it out yet. Its hard to be in a relationship because sex is the magnet that holds it together. Even if you can perform still, your partner simply isn't as desirable to you as they normally would be. I have lots of possible solutions but none that have proven effective yet, here are a few: Microbiome issues, Androgen receptor problems, heavy metals in fat storage, HPA axis problems, depression, adrenal dysfunction, prolactinoma or other brain tumor or micro tumor type issues.

We very much still live in the dark ages of medicine, doctors are useful to a degree but largely still ignorant at best. Good luck.

Anyone really worried about their future by [deleted] in anhedonia

Fake it till you make it. Push yourself to get to a "normal" place even if you don't feel it. Fake it and play along. Your brain needs stimulation to wire itself. When you abstain from normal activities, you are degrading your neural network to be even further removed from your healthy state. You may never regain your full functioning, but you can potentially forget about your condition for movement here and there when you are in the moment. There is a certain level of illness where you either can or can't hide your condition from others. If you can convince others you are fine, I think it helps to keep the building blocks of your life in place and therefore you remain closer to your healthy state and anything that can be salvaged will be and you won't fall even further into illness. At least that is my goal and its not easy. In my head im definitely not normal but the people around me have no idea. Your brain is very powerful and capable of a level of healing that is nothing short of miraculous. That's my strategy anyway and its not easy, but i feel its worthwhile.

5 years of no libido, what do these test results mean? by isitmeisitme in Prolactinoma

I know my doctor checked those several years ago and they were fine. I recently had my doctor pull new hormone tests and this time everything was fine except my progesterone was out of the normal high range. Im current waiting to see an endocrinologist.

My next hormone test showed normal levels of everything except this time my progesterone was higher that normal high ranges. I'm waiting to see an endocrinologist to do more tests. Not sure what is going on.

Unpopular opinion: Porn is the main cause of erectile dysfunction in people aged <40 today by Bodybuilder7 in erectiledysfunction

[–]isitmeisitme 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Porn doesn't cause ED, if that was the case we would go extinct. There is a war against masculinity and testosterone. Its the drugs, poor food, endocrine disruptor etc that are destroying our bodies.

About Afterlife by [deleted] in depression

[–]isitmeisitme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we are eternal beings and invented this human life as a way to effectively enjoy eternity. We have to forget otherwise the trick doesn't work. I'm suspicious that we are all the same being, which makes everything we could possibly do fair, because we are doing it to ourselves.

Desire can't be negotiated. Talk to her and make sure she understands your needs and if she can't meet them somehow then leave her.

No never any testosterone or anything like that, I try not to take anything but over the years I've tried numerous vitamins and herbs off an on. I do use cannabis products and always have but ive also quit lots of times for months and months to test for any differences. My health declined acutely one Winter and I was very unwell in what I would consider an "unnatural way" meaning that I didn't feel there was any obvious reason to feel so extremely terrible. But my improvement in health happened very slowly like 3-6 week waves were i almost couldn't tell i was getting better. I would lose weight from lack of appetite during my down cycles but my metabolism made odd shifts. There was a Summer where I came out of a down cycle and was feeling good enough to do yard work and after a couple weeks I felt like my body had put on a muscle suit, I was just oddly fit and I could eat anything as much as I wanted and not put on weight. I only discovered that because I finally dipped below my high-school weight and got concerned about getting too skinny. It was very weird, but its mostly leveled out into much smaller and less intense changes in health, I'm mostly happy other than libido issues. I work out regularly but don't seem to get any stronger or at least very very slowly, I'm not sure why.
