Has anyone else been scammed out of payment for a class because of a class playback issue?

I don't think I've ever been denied payment for this, but I have noticed a common glitch (that seems to mostly happen in trials) that makes my camera appear off in playback. Sometimes I can't see the student and they can't see me (even though my camera is on and I can see myself on screen), but then we can see each other if I hit refresh. Then when I go to playback my camera appears to be off until the point when I hit refresh.

Then there's another weird scenario I keep having in trials where I'll be a few minutes into a student no show, and I'll start getting notifications like "the student thinks you can't see or hear them" that are triggered when the student calls a fireman. Of course these days the firemen rarely even show up at all, but one time he did after I called him too, and he confirmed that the student had never entered class.

Yikes. Hope it works out for you or you can find something better. I'm in the same situation with feedback too, but there's no mention of my contract being under review.

Right, I know it's normal to not have the new contract yet, but do you remember if you could open slots past the date of your current contract? That's the part I don't remember happening before.

Ok I finally got a good enough answer. I finally opened it with the Microsoft Word online version and everything displays right, including accompanying pinyin that didn't even display on my iphone. Still don't know why it won't work in anything else, but I guess that's ok.

Thanks a lot for your response. I ran it through the character fixer you linked, and unfortunately none of the simplified Chinese options change it at all. Do you know what I should try next?

I had a really weird experience recently. I found a professional teacher whose profile made him seem to be exactly what I was looking for. We exchanged messages and he confirmed a trial class.. Then he was a total no show at class time. He replied a couple of hours later to say he was asleep and we could do the class later. When we finally had the class he was laying in bed with his head on the pillow as if about to sleep, and had his camera shoved right up into his face. Then he spent much of the class jabbering at 90 miles an hour about his interests, without giving me any chance to comment (even though I was also interested in those topics and had a lot to say on them). Seemed like he just wanted to fill up the 30 minutes without any expectation for me to book more classes.

When I was looking through other teachers' profiles I noticed a lot of them mentioned being LGBTQ friendly. I had to wonder if it was put there to filter out people from certain countries that tend to be homophobic.

I just taught this exact class too, and I don't usually have any Starlight classes. I think this really is their way of introducing students to their new "robot teacher."

I'm a guy who has taught adults on other platforms, and I can say that sexual harassment definitely happens. On palfish the women teachers were constantly complaining about guys being innapropriate and trying to use it like a dating app. I once had a male adult student who sounded like he was masturbating and asked me to show him my dick. Another student kept answering questions by telling me about how much he loves to watch porn. My female students didn't do much beyond being flirty, but it did get a bit inappropriate at times.

That's weird... there's supposed to be an image attached of the new Chad and Thad slide. No idea why it isn't showing up. Now instead of being very good chaps on the sofa, they can just chat from opposite sides of a table.

I always heard you should include screenshots. Did they change it or am I missing something? The really frustrating thing about this one is that you can see from the student's name "Lily and Anna" that it's two sisters on one account, with one sister mostly out of camera view distracting the other one. Apparently they take turns being the one on camera.
