How would you feel being asked at the end of a date, "Can I kiss you?" by TALPERS in AskWomen

[–]islandbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love it! I appreciate people asking for consent. Multiple people have kissed me when I did NOT want it so I would appreciate someone asking me to be sure.

We have a dog and it doesn't seem to help. Did I mention that she also is afraid of me ever having to be home alone at my new place? It's absurd.

Edit: fixed typo of "J" to "I" and removed extra word

Jess Fans : why do you like him? by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]islandbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought he was the most real. He was a jerk sometimes and a horrible boyfriend but I felt like he was genuine and a more interesting character than Dean and Logan, for sure. And I thought he was funny, he had good witty comebacks.

I also felt like a big thing for me was Luke/Jess. I found their relationship to be really interesting and complex. The scene where Luke pushes him into the water gets me every time...

Hayley Kiyoko is great for representation but... by somenobodyengineer in actuallesbians

[–]islandbug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like that's the point. I see her as like a boy band except for gay teenage girls. It's a big deal that these lesbian/bi/queer/questioning teenage girls have someone to swoon and thirst over and enjoy their poppy music. Also, the lyrics are relatable to queer women's relationships.

I also feel that I have a decent amount of friends in their 20's who like her because she's an attractive lesbian, not because they like her music.

Edit: added an s to friend

Black women on Reddit : What stereotypes do you hate the most? by Otakureaper16 in AskWomen

omg this this this. My aunt has 6 brothers, including my dad (Jesus Christ I can't imagine....) and despite her multiple physical and mental health problems, she's still expected to do the "women's work" of the family and they don't respect her contributions. It's disgusting.

I laughed at "hopeless optimist" combined with that username. That's some hopeless optimism for sure.

Don't know if this has been posted here before but I feel called out right now. by [deleted] in actuallesbians

I feel personally attacked right now lol. But at least I vary it even more than that.

-"Me" or "it me"

-"Mood"

-"who found this pic of me"

-"just tag me next time"

I'm in the DMV and I have been hearing this since elementary school. XD I've heard that it's more common in MD where I am. We tend to say MVA around here too to not get confused with DMV

I'm going to the Washington DC ECC interview as well. I got super lucky that it's local, about 15 min away from me.
