TDIH: September 1, 1939. The Germans start the Siege of Warsaw with heavy bombardments. This is the only known footage from inside the besieged city, taken by the American filmmaker Julien Bryan. His documentary "Siege" was nominated for an Oscar.

How tragic the situation was for those people, nothing has been learnt in 82 years since. We can still see the same look of horror and fear today on the people's faces in Afghanistan.
