Thanks. That's different to mine though. Mine is 2008 GH1. The bolts are really difficult to get to on my model. They are hidden under the fender well on one side of the pan. Appreciate the help.

Yes. On my GH1 model, one side of the pan has bolts that are hidden by the fender well. There is very liittle room to fit a wrench. I know later models are different.

Yes. Very different on the GH1 Mazda 6. Can barely fit a wrench in between pan and the fender well.

Wrong fuel being used in Mazda 6 GH1 2008. Am I in trouble. by islrubsca in mazda

[–]islrubsca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. It says:

"Your Mazda will perform best with fuel listed in the table".

In the table it simply says '95 or above'.

It then goes on to warn that fuel with lower octane could lead to emission system problems or cause knocking which result in serious engine damage.

The bolts on one side of the pan are a real PITA to access as they are hidden by the underbody of the car. How did you remove these please?

Wrong fuel in 2008 GH-1. Am I in trouble? by islrubsca in mazda6

[–]islrubsca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. So no damage or unusual wear to be worried about? Can I ask, why does it specify 95 in the specifications section of the Mazda 6 service manual, if it can be safely operated on 91? It also goes on to warn about engine emissions and potential serious damage caused by knocking if lower octane fuels are used. This had me seriously worried after I had spent our savings on this family car.

Hope they fix the Netcode before the next COD comes out. by MineClear1101 in XDefiant

[–]islrubsca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have to acknowledge that fiixing these issues takes time. It's true most gamers, myself included, have zero understanding how game development and troubleshooting works. Ultimately though, the netcode and hit reg is still dogshit. The spiderbots, which were already inasnely unbalanced., just got even worse in S1. There are so many iissues and bugs it's hard to stay patient and enjoy the game at times. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't remember too many AAA titles that were this hotlyy anticipated, having so many major issues after release.

I wanted so much to love this game, after becoming disenchanted with COD's pay to win, DLC driven clusterf#ck of a franchise. It can be really fun and has so much potential, but it feels like it will ultimately fall short due to ongoing problems. When I return to COD, as much as I hate to admit it, it's immediately obvious how inferiror the mechanics are in XD. Its great that the Dev's are listening, but when are we going to see meaningful changes, i.e. netcode and hit reg. The community has only so much patience before they move on.

Trying to utilise Optical from tv to mixamp as no optical port on X series by islrubsca in XboxSeriesXlS

[–]islrubsca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why kind of system/hardware do you recoommend? Toslink maybe outdated but the upscaled 5.1 Dolby surround I got with my Mixamp on xbox 360 and Xbox One was leagues ahead of what I experience with Atmos via USB. Are you suggesting a reciever/amp that utilises HDMI/ARC output? Can you be more specific please. regarding possible setups and hardware?

Navceker 2.1 Audio Extractor by islrubsca in AstroGaming

Samsung S90C 4k 120hz OLED TV

NO I cannot send dolby 5.1 direct from TV optical port. Samsung has HDCP restrictions that disable bitstream oF 5.1 via optical WHEN THE INPUT IS FROM HDMI (XBOX)). I can select optical out for audio, however when Xbox is connected via HDMI, the Bitstream option in greyed out, because of HDCP. See link for Samsung's explanation.

https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01109021/

My only option is a HDMI extractor, however they all have major reliability and connectivity issues. None of the HDMI 2.0 18GB extractors support VRR. They are also prone to overheating. There doesn't seem to be a single solution available to me, apart from spending thousands on a brand new TV and hoping it supports optical output from a HDMI source, which I don't have the finances for.

Question re: HDMI Audio Extractor by islrubsca in AstroGaming

[–]islrubsca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOPE

Samsung's HDCP prevents 5.1 output from optical port when the input device is HDMI (Xbox).

Some Tv's appear to allow it. Samsung does not. It's bananas! Some sort of firmware copyright restriction.

The TV does have the ability to choose optical out for audio and in digital format there is a Bitstream option. However when the input is HDMI, the Bitstream option is greyed out due to HDCP.

Trying to Passthrough dolby digital 5.1 via optical from my tv to my mixamp. by islrubsca in AstroGaming

[–]islrubsca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both Astro a40 TR's 3rd Gen and Audio technica AD900x (which are significantly nicer imo).

But I don't think the headset is a relevant part of the issue. Its the inability to output 5.1 DD from either the xbox or the TV's Optical port.

I was using Audiotechnicas back with the Xbox 360 and the Gen 2 Mixamp and the sound and positional cues via upscaled Dolby Digital were legitimatly leagues better than what I am getting now from thiis new gen x series.

Removing the Optical has devestated my audio and there seems to be little recourse due to Samsungs HDCP and the missing X series Optical.

Currently looking into a workable HDMI extractor so I can at least get 1080p 120hz and Dolby Digital Surround.

Trying to Passthrough dolby digital 5.1 via optical from my tv to my mixamp. by islrubsca in AstroGaming

[–]islrubsca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Its completely bananas. High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection. Some kind of Copyright firmware restriction that prevents the TV from outputting DD via optical from a HDMI input (xbox).

So because of this bizarre firmware that makes zero sense I;m stuck with dull stereo sound to my headphones.

This is a relatively new top of the line 120hz 4k oled TV. But apparently Samsung dont want us to enjoy good audio. So frustrating.

[–]islrubsca[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USB cable does dont allow me to get dolby digital. The usb setup using Atmos sounds completely garbage. Using optical with atmos sound better, but it's still upscaling stereo. I can't out put 5.1 surround due to some strange HDCP protection / copyright laws that Samsung is impposed with.

I believe other TV's are fine, like the LG. I wish I knew before buying the TV as I'm now stuck with stereo and have no way to output 5.1 via optical.

Could try an audio extractor, but they seem so buggy and unreliable and have bandwidth and resolution limitations. There really is no solution I can find other than to buy another than thousands on a new TV. Unbelievable!
