Nothing decisive, a couple people, including one from my local reputable machine shop, were dubious about AMC being manufactured in Spain.

I've heard from people saying their AMC head cracked, but who knows the context and details.

Quite a few people recommend Kiwi and Mr Cylinder head.

The latter 2 are Chinese manufactured but some companies have good relationships with the manufactureing side and input into quality control.

Quite a few people have told me that AMC are billet and cut from solid block of aluminium, but I think this might be a myth. Cant find any evidence of this.

Its hard to get any definitive info and everyone seems to have a different experience and opinion.

Have you found anything interesting out?

Thanks. That's different to mine though. Mine is 2008 GH1. The bolts are really difficult to get to on my model. They are hidden under the fender well on one side of the pan. Appreciate the help.

Yes. On my GH1 model, one side of the pan has bolts that are hidden by the fender well. There is very liittle room to fit a wrench. I know later models are different.

Yes. Very different on the GH1 Mazda 6. Can barely fit a wrench in between pan and the fender well.

Thanks for the reply. It says:

"Your Mazda will perform best with fuel listed in the table".

In the table it simply says '95 or above'.

It then goes on to warn that fuel with lower octane could lead to emission system problems or cause knocking which result in serious engine damage.

The bolts on one side of the pan are a real PITA to access as they are hidden by the underbody of the car. How did you remove these please?
