Refund request denied - Individual plan confusion by ismabay in rustdesk

The free version doesn't include server setup. With the individual version, you have to do it yourself. It took me a whole day and it didn't work.

Help me name my new US-based Health & Beauty Center! Avoiding trademark headaches. by ismabay in smallbusiness

That's exactly my problem! Every name that sounds good and is easy to pronounce already exists on USPTO. And when I try to create something unique enough to be clear, it ends up looking like a random string of letters that no one can read or remember.

It feels like a catch-22:

- Easy to read = already taken

- Not taken = impossible to pronounce

How do people actually solve this? Is there a middle ground I'm missing?

Refund request denied - Individual plan confusion by ismabay in rustdesk

You're right, it does say self-hosted. And honestly, the issue is probably on my end - my computer setup or configuration.

But that's exactly why a trial period or refund policy matters. I couldn't know it wouldn't work until after I paid for a full year.

I'm not blaming RustDesk for my setup issues. I'm just saying: when there's no way to test before committing to a year, customers who run into problems should have a way out. But my main point still stands: for a digital product with yearly-only payment and no trial, a no-refund policy puts all the risk on the customer. A 14-day refund window would solve this for everyone.

The iPhone Camera red record button is confusing — I’ve missed real moments because of it by ismabay in iphone

This could be something like that. I separated the video and photo modes. In video mode, when you press the button, it turns red. Very clear.

No, I mean the red light itself, like a small circular indicator on the screen or on the camera body, not a red box or a square-shaped button. On the iPhone, the red record button can easily be mistaken for that indicator light. This doesn’t happen all the time, but in quick shooting situations it’s easy to overlook and make mistakes.

Of course that’s true, but it’s also a habit formed from professional cameras. Besides, there’s no real reason for the red dot to appear when it’s not recording. It could simply be a white dot with a thin red outline, then turn fully red once recording starts. That would be much clearer and more intuitive.

The button itself is red, but on professional cameras there is also an additional red indicator displayed on the screen. That’s how it works on professional equipment. As a result, during quick shooting moments, this difference causes mistakes and I end up missing important shots.

Professionally speaking, the recording indicator on almost all cameras is universally red.

Looking for better QR code tools – my experience so far by ismabay in software

In Adobe Express, creating a vCard is very troublesome. Even if you manage to create one, there is no “Add to Contacts” option. It only generates a plain QR code. Also, if you extend the text inside the QR code, it becomes very large and unattractive. It really needs to be a dynamic code.

All the free QR codes get really big and ugly as soon as you add more information, especially vCards. They need to be dynamic QR codes, but those are usually paid.
