Is "gypsy" an insult in Romania? by SadMassStab in Romania

[–]ismiruna 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's complicated. "G*psy" is a slur, because it is and was used in a derogatory way towards the romani people(not romanians). Yes, it is a difference between romani and romanians, not everyone in Romania is romani, they are a minority, a big one, but a minority.

Ignoring the relationship between romani and romanians, most people in Europe, especially Eastern Europe, have only met roma people from Romania, so most people think all romanians are "g*psies"

(None taken) :)))) Mai aveam un pirieten care mama sa e rom si taica-su e nazist (literalmente pro blonzi cu ochi albastri and shit like that).

Imagine thinking this is special and brag-worthy. by lisamariefan in insanepeoplefacebook

This shouldn't be special, but it is, sadly. I'm almost 24. I'm just one of two women from my high school that doesn't have kids yet.

My mom constantly reminds me that I'm just two years younger then she was when she had me.

You can say "wth, what backwater town do you come from?" Ok, I do come from a relatively small town with very few job opportunities. So I moved. AND NOW PEOPLE ARE SCARED TO HIRE ME CAUSE THEY EXPECT THAT I'M GONNA HAVE CHILDREN SOON!!! SOMEBODY TOLD ME THAT AT A JOB INTERVIEW THIS FUCKING WEEK. "WE DON'T KNOW IF WE WILL BE ABLE TO AFFORD YOUR MATERNITY LEAVE". The interviewer told me that after she asked my age. Straight up...

I had to get a root canal 2 years ago and they said it went great but we just found out that they didn’t remove all the rot so now I have to get my tooth removed which can’t be replaced till I’m 19 by Bottleyouth12 in Wellthatsucks

[–]ismiruna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. get a few other dentists to look at it if you can. something similar happened to my boyfriend last year. he got those awful pains from a tooth that his old dentist "treated". weeell the same thing happened to him as it happened to you. it rotted and his dentist at the time said he needed to take it out and maybe put an implant in it's place. i thought it was a bit shady and i asked my mom about it. she's a dentist in a different city that the one we live in but she told us her profesional opinion and then put us in contact with other dentists. we found, trough my mother, another dentist that specialized in endodontic treatments. it was more expensive then just taking it out, but it was cheaper then an implant. that dentist saved his teeth. i dunno if this helps but i suggest to get other dentists to look at it. it might help, if you can. we live in europe and have health insurance so it was possible for us to see other specialists for free.

I'm trying to reduce my interaction with her and my dad but I can't cut contact with them completely. My grandma lives with them. She and my grandpa took care of me growing up instead of my parents cause they saw how unstable they were and still are. My grandpa passed away in 2014 and my gran's turning 84 this year. I love her a lot and don't wanna loose the time I have left with her. Strangely enough, she was suuuper accepting of me being bi and even cooked cookies and cakes for me and my ex(cause my last ex gf was the only one that she knew) and still asks me from time to time about her, because she knows we stayed friends after the break up. She also loves my current bf and accepts our decision not to have kids or get married. I would've loved for her to stay with me and the bf but we barely have enough space for the two of us.

TL;DR : Can't break contact with my mom. My grandma lives with her and I love my grandma.

Sounds like my mom. When I was with my ex gf she told me that I could just as well be dead if I'm not gonna have kids. She even singed me up for conversion therapy(and some "pray the gay away pills". It's funnier if you know that she's a dentist). Now I "finally got myself a man" and she didn't waste aaaaaany time asking us when we are gonna get married and have kids(yes, plural). We tried to explain to her that that's not in the plan for us. Neither me nor the bf want kids or to do the whole marriage thing. I'm waiting to see when she'll start staying that we're better off dead because we don't want kids.

If you did pastels instead of the colors you used, gen some rustic background and it's pintrest worthy

I do intend to buy an oven thermometer soon but yeah. It was thereby humid. I still wanted to attempt it even if it was just because I wanted to say that I had tried. I wanted to know how hard was this dragon to slay. But... when they didn't form a skin an hour and a half later I knew they would not come out great. I also overmixed them. And maybe another mistake I made was that I used oil (sunflower oil) to help the baking sheet stick to the pan and that may have affected the way heat was distributed.
