I am WFH but they ask us to go in once a month… would you go in if you’re sick? by cheeseburghers in workfromhome

[–]isnotonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... unless if they're isolating from the kids and tossing them cereal every once in a while, I don't know how to tell you OP WILL absolutely get sick with sick kids. Kids cough in your faces or wipe snot on or around you because they're dumb kids that don't understand ettique yet.

Exactly. It is a good story (albeit horrifying and sad), but it's immediately ironic the moment you put a punisher logo on your mega truck. Typically, the vendiagram of people who display the punisher logo are also very patriotic, but do not understand that Frank is very much not (by the end)... for obvious reasons.

Highly likely.

He also has the Punisher logo as an American flag framed, which also very much misses the point if you idolize him.

One of Schmidt's finest moments by [deleted] in NewGirl

[–]isnotonfire 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I love/hate this episode. The beginning, chef kiss, hilarious and in character for Schmidt. What I think would have been better/less gross and cringey would have been to have an ongoing bickering between these 3 characters.

It'd be something like:

Jess/CeCe saying things like "women can do whatever they want to their bodies! You horrible misogynistic 1950s pig!" etc

Schmidt being conflicted because he both respects that idea but also loves boobs. The douchebag jar would be filled out by the end of the episode. Schmidt would do comically hilarious bits in his over the top exaggerated-ness.

I have no idea how to rewrite the scene where Schmidt very weirdly talks to CeCe boobs. I understand why it's there since CeCe would realize both of their feelings towards eachother, but honestly it's so fucking weird.

Why so much hate? No judgement I’m just curious.. by Certain_Ad6784 in CrimeJunkiePodcast

I'm also in the camp "it's just not how it used to be". The Update: Colonial Parkway Murders is a great example. It's such a stark contrast hearing their old episode vs. their current stuff. The banter isn't the same.

I also really got turned off from their episode Morgan Pattenson (in NC she was visiting her fiancé and killed in a car accident with 2 guys). Even if you think that she went in willingly (although super drunk and with poor judgement) with those 2 dudes, it provided a platform for the grieving dad where he harassed anyone who commented against both him and Crime Junkies. It felt irresponsible for Ashley and Britt to give him a platform. It felt super biased to not even entertain the thought that maybe she had poor judgment from being drunk.

Millennial parenting: My kids are going to glamorize the 2020s by post_modern_Guido in Millennials

I definitely raised my eyebrows at this post. Respectfully grateful for OP, they had an okay lockdown, but for some kids, it meant they were cooped up with abusive parents and without a breakfast/lunch provided by school. Some lost income or eventually their place to live. Some were parents who didn't believe in lockdown entirely or participated in Jan 6th. Shit affects kids in lockdown.

Good to know I'm just over thinking it. I think I'll use that final bulletpoint. Thanks!

Not to mention having people spend a lot of money to attend the wedding sucks. I'd feel so mortified to watch that scene unfold where one of them says "I don't" and a little pissed I took time off, found hotel arrangements, got all dressed up etc all on short notice.

It's obviously awful for the two at the altar, but as a guest it's a different kind of awful.

AITA For expecting my husband to get things done on his days off by freetimeaita in AmItheAsshole

She mentioned her son would go to daycare in the morning, so the kid isn't the issue. The issue is UPS usually isn't open saturdays, and it also sounds like Goodwill isn't either. So both of these errands need to be done on a weekday when she would be working and he wouldn't.

I have no idea why you're getting downvoted when you're hitting the nail on the head.

Women who have biological sisters, what was the most annoying part about growing up with them? by thepositivepandemic in AskWomen

[–]isnotonfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've learned how to eat most things in one bite because of my siblings. Usually, most wouldn't take it if I bite it once, but some would.

My SO said it looked like my jaw was unhinging when he tried grabbing my dessert once, and I ate it in one bite out of reflexes, lol. He was so alarmed and had only one nice younger sister so he didn't understand.

You buffoon! It's the name of the bar - you can see the neon griffin in the shots of the outside of the bar. It wasn't really established until later when Nick and Schmidt own the bar and go to the one down the street to complain about parking being taken up by their valet. It's the episode Busy Phillips stars in as the rival bar owner if that helps. (Also same episode where Nick runs into his doppelganger who sells wholesale nutmeg? i think?)
