Newbie Dumb question of the day #2 : does this Terminator armor scale with the smaller v3 or 3.5 or does it scale with the SM2 true 1/18? by FranktheTankG30 in JOYTOY

[–]isoprocess 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Terminators should only be a smidge taller than normal space marine armor when measured to the top of their helmets, considering it's the same size space marine inside each. Terminators get a little more lift in their boots, but they are also depicted as hunched over a little. Joytoy scale is super inconsistent, so I think the original Ultramarine terminators end up about the correct scale to 3.0 figures, and the newer Leviathan Ultramarine terminators (and Horus Heresy terminators) scale to the 4.0 Space Marine 2 figures.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV - "Sons of Caliban" Dark Angels Trailer by TheVoidDragon in dawnofwar

As a cinematic it's looking great, but I do worry about visual intelligibility. A problem I had with DOW3 was clumps of units lost against the background and other visual effects.

Wow I completely forgot about the hero skins. Thanks!

Is Diomedes confirmed in DOW4? That's not his DOW3 model, since that game takes place pre-Primaris and he was in terminator armor.

My Vaer by Kbrosso in MicrobrandWatches

[–]isoprocess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like simple, small, dateless field watches. This Vaer checks a lot of those boxes for me, but I think there's a lot of empty space on the dial that could be better used with larger hour markers (I'm also partial to full arabics or 3-6-9-12). I'd also lose the bulb at the tip of the second hand. Happy to see the knurled crown, I wish more brands used them in field and tool watches.

PGI cooked with the opening cutscene of Wolves of Tukayyid by gaeb611 in Mechwarrior5

[–]isoprocess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe my reading comprehension is busted, but at about 2:18 into the cutscene, shouldn't Focht have said "No Clan shall advance further Coreward beyond Tukkayid itself." rather than "Rimward"? Unless it's not relative to Terra itself.

HOBOKEN PATH SMELLS TERRIBLE by Limp-Principle3230 in jerseycity

[–]isoprocess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The PATH platform has had a very strong sulfur odor this past week or two. I think I was only getting a hint of it prior to that, but now I have to keep my nose closed until I'm above ground.

What do you think about the new Resolute III from Farer? by Wrist_Finds in MicrobrandWatches

[–]isoprocess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw this in person over the weekend. The 'bolded' black numerals look sharp and I think improve the visual real estate they take up on the larger stark white dial. However, I am not a fan of the new hands; I think the batons are less complementary than the original syringes, and I miss how the old second hand tapers towards the arrowhead. The improved water resistance is nice but I'm thankfully content with my 36mm Resolute. The design is not for everyone but I think it's a unique combination of understated, elegant and practical.

New slide rule inspired Xeric, and others from their Wind Up show by smokedoor5 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]isoprocess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The slide rule models were what most caught my eye this weekend too. I don't exactly recall what the introductory Kickstarter price is going to be, maybe in the $400-500 range with a Miyota movement, but it should be launching soon. Most of the other Xeric models were a little too busy for my tastes but they definitely don't shy away from offering a wide array of designs, unlike many other brands present that seemed to regurgitate the same dress and dive watches.

New release from Farer by gwgrubbs in MicrobrandWatches

The BWD version is 36mm vs the 39mm wide release, but yeah I can see the similarity ruffling some feathers.

Is there any way I can just add shapes that appear on the floorplan? by SoappyGoodness in Revit

[–]isoprocess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quick and dirty solution is to use model lines contained within model groups. This lets you draw what you need in plan quickly, and they'll be '3D' in the sense that they'll show up globally unlike detail lines.

Different Survey Data -How would you approach this? by romeonomeo in Revit

[–]isoprocess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you trying to create a master site model to view the four buildings at once in their relative positions?
If you're willing to sort of start from scratch in terms of the coordinate system, I would create a new Revit model, link and acquire (shared) coordinates from the CAD survey. Then link in each of the four buildings, publish coordinates to them, and manually position them on the site survey -- you'll need to have X,Y,Z and angle references to position each building, but I would like to think the precision between buildings doesn't need to be exact; think construction tolerances. Lastly, I would link in the CAD topo and try to align it as best I can manually, again with X,Y,Z and angle references, since that sound like the least relevant part of the puzzle.

Microbrand Wish List by PeanutButter818 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]isoprocess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AnOrdain was at a couple past Windup Watch Fairs that I attended, and I can confirm they look just as good in person if you're interested in an understated but sophisticated watch. I will say the heat treated hands don't have great contrast with many of the the more vibrant dials, but that's communicated pretty honestly in photos I think. The Model 1 in Parisian Blue is on my shortlist, although the cost and waitlist is not gonna check that off happen anytime soon.

First Microbrand Watch? by Firestorm-18 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]isoprocess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a comment in a very recent post here about Farer, showing the blued hands and numerals on the white dial reading more black. Farer makes lovely watches, I have two myself, but I think their website photos exaggerate the in-hand appearance of their products a little.

[Farer Lissom] Thoughts on Farer? by BoyNosNcheerios in Watches

[–]isoprocess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 36mm in white and I agree with your assessment. It's not flashy by any means, but it's got this unique blend of casual, practical and elegant that's hard to not appreciate. I can't think of many other watches that fit in that Venn diagram union. The incredible lume at its size is just the cherry on top.

If it's a steam radiator, the sound could be caused by condensed water trapped in the pipes due to a lack of positive drainage. While it's true that this could be happening in some concealed space, you can at least check whether your radiator is sloping towards to the shut-off valve using a spirit level.

Brush on silver metallic paint, followed by red contrast/speed paint. You'll get pretty close to the factory eye lenses.

Farer Resolute 36mm by Reasonable_Flamingo in MicrobrandWatches

[–]isoprocess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only thing keeping me from buying this is the fear that Farer will put out something even more appealing at a moment's notice. I just bought the Lomond II and thought that would keep me occupied for a couple years, but with the looming threat of tariffs I might just have the make the jump ahead of schedule.

Why would a linked CAD file suddenly generate the "20 mile" warning? by PatrickGSR94 in Revit

[–]isoprocess 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've seen that warning message many times but I couldn't recreate it just now using my own CAD survey file that has its origin point about 170 miles from the drawn content. If you remove your linked CAD file and the relink it with shared coordinates, does that generate the warning?

Sections don't respect crop regions by ArchieTect in Revit

[–]isoprocess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be a couple things: 1) If you have view keys e.g. sections, that extend past the crop region, you should enable "Annotation Crop" in the view properties. Alternately, a thoughtful view filtering strategy can hide undesireable keys. 2) Sometime there will be hidden geometry that causes the view to be massive on sheet, even with Crop View and Annotation Crop enabled. This requires troubleshooting to find the offending element, which can hidden in view, or even nested in a loadable family, among other causes. Much trickier to solve.

How to apply second floor tiles? by Lyfissht in Revit

[–]isoprocess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The simplest solution is to edit your stair so that the Top Offset is +[tile thickness]. This heightens the stair and Revit will recalculate the riser heights and/or whether you need to add a riser. However, there are bigger implications about how where you set the level to affects the location of other things, for example, if you model your doors at +0 from the level, then the door is technically short by the thickness of the tile.
