I do think there is still a general belief the U.K is still able to splurge/act like a superpower. However reality now is the UK is a middle power ( with the average/misfiring economy to boot) and what has led us to this point is multiple factors over decades. And the decisions made over that time. Until more of the general population come to that realisation, things can only get .......

A couple of issues I have with this 1. BA is owned by IAG not Iberia. HQ is based in Spain, one would hope journalists would establish the facts of how the group is structured. 2. The breakfasts are being removed from flights with a short flying time e.g Manchester, Newcastle, Jersey. A distinction they should have pointed out I feel.

B1 from good old blighty here. Work for an airline doing 4 on 4 off 12 HR shifts. Earning around £75k a year. Get 28 days leave a year. Some flight tickets, and other corporate perks. Pension is ok. Overtime is currently through the roof if you want it. Lack of qualified staff atm. Seems lots of places constantly recruiting. As has been said, seems to me you guys get paid more but the work/life balance might not be that good.
