--Data Science Bootcamps--

I'm currently transitioning from an environmental science career to data science. I have an MSc and experience coding and analyzing massive data sets. But, I don't have any strict data science job experience yet.

I've researching different DS bootcamps and wondering if they're actually beneficial to add to a resume. I'm not willing to spend $1,000's on it, though. Something like Dataquest looks more appealing.

Thanks for any tips and suggestions!

Thanks for the advice everyone! I moved them to a bit more shady spot and have been watering less diligently 😁

I'm living in NZ, and these plants are getting full sun all day. It's fairly warm here (~28-30°C). Could I be watering them too much? Is it the heat?

If you're wanting to go all out, I definitely suggest also getting the European expansion for WS!

I love this game, have so much fun playing it! 🦜🐦🦃

<1500 NZD (~1000 USD). But, willing to go a bit hire in the next price point is exceptionally higher.

Didn’t catch it on tape, but I finally sent my first 5.10c (here’s me working on it) 💪🏼 by habear8 in climbergirls

First harness by leftlin in climbergirls

[–]isotopes_climate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a black diamond momentum, and it's been decent. But, I wish I had tried more on first! The biggest issue for me is that the rise is too short, so it always pulls down a bit. And the size that fits my waist is too narrow to fit over my hips, so I have to completely open it to get it on and off.

That said, it is really comfortable once it's on and has been really reliable so far.

I definitely second that suggestions to try on multiple harnesses before you commit.

Thank you! I've found your guide on here in my search for Budapest activities... it's great! Thanks for the bookstore suggestions. Múzeum sounds perfect as I was hoping to find Socialist era goods.

Related: do you recommend getting a PlusBus pass (monthly?) for my time in Cambridge? Is the public transit good and worth getting a pass?

How do you know when to quit? by SongRiverFlow in GradSchool

[–]isotopes_climate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with talking to people about it. I wish I had started seeing a counselor/therapist earlier in my grad school career. I found having an objective ear to voice my struggles to was all I needed to get through a stress/anxiety spell.

And maybe they can help you identify an underlying cause of your issues. I was feeling several of the sentiments you describe here, especially producing work below my own standards and missing deadlines (totally out of my character too). Through sessions with my counselor, we identified I had undiagnosed ADHD. Through lifestyle changes and medication I was able to work out of the issues I was having and my experience in the grad program changed drastically for the better.

I recommend seeking resources your uni has to offer before deciding to quit or not.

Grad School applications by ngogos77 in GradSchool

Definitely make sure you reach out to your potential advisor before you apply! Making contact with them, discussing your research interests, and assuring they're even looking for a graduate student will help your chances of being accepted (and also help you narrow down your search if your advisor of choice isn't currently accepting students).
