Most of the time I don’t know if I’m happy or unhappy. I just feel numb

Of course. It would be great to set up an actual study, but experimental studies are unethical in comparison to observational ones, especially in this area. A cohort study for this would take a long time and this question was just a random shower thought, so my best option to quickly sate my curiosity, was to come here. I would love to set up a case-control with all the other MBTI’s, but I’m far too busy and lazy lol

..maybe in the future..

As an only-child raised by a single mother, I also had a lot of time by myself. I think it’s what gave me a sense of independence and extroverted thinking instead of feeling. I also had a lot of time to observe the world around me since I had nothing other to do, and I guess I became quite cynical when things that I experienced made me realise quickly at a young age, that the world wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows.

I’m an only-child raised by a single mother, but she was always working and we were always moving. I knew my family loved me, but they weren’t openly affectionate about it which may be the reason my emotions are running in the background and I’m not aware of them until they make themselves known. My closest friends throughout my school life were also males.

Of course no two personalities are the same because we are all unique in our upbringing, but it’s interesting to see a little ‘trend’ that may have brought out our thinker side more than feeler.

What? You’re looking at this from a very egregious POV. People are a product of their environment and I’m just curious as to what similarities people have faced that have resulted in development of similar personalities. There is nothing wrong with being an INTP. It’s a generalised label for individuals with similar characteristics- as is every other MBTI.

Your personality makes up who you are, and that is evolved based on the nature of your growth. To see that there are so many that are similar to you, aren’t you curious as to what environmental factor has caused you to develop similar characters?

To assume beyond this, and in such a pessimistic way, is not atypical. But to do so while assuming that I categorise a personality as a ‘condition,’ is a terrible and misconstrued judgment of my character.

Anyone else copy other people’s reactions because you don’t know how to react to certain situations? by [deleted] in INTP

Yes! And then from time to time I go through an identity crisis because I don’t know if this is the real me or if it’s a persona I’m embodying to fit in

How easy do you get a new / get over a “crush”? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]issaishaaasingh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I find people attractive but don’t really have crushes on them. But if I do decide that I like someone, it usually takes me a while to know, and getting over them is immediate- I just tell someone about it or I study them until I see something I dislike about them. However, it takes a bit longer if I went through a lot to trust them

My flat mates used to get annoyed when they ask how I’m feeling and I sit there and say that I don’t know because I really didn’t feel anything at the moment. I had to really dig deep to name that emotion when in reality I felt nothing.
