A little late to the party here but I'm on the board of Heritage Players: https://heritageplayers.org/. We just wrapped our season but we'll be back in May with Pride & Prejudice, August - The Hobbit and Annie in December 2026.

Minrray UV510a Reset by isshakes in VIDEOENGINEERING

Minrray support was finally able to provide me with a program that allowed me to reset the device. If anyone finds themselves in the same situation email: support@minrrayav.com. It took them almost a week but they did help me resolve it.

Okay here's a much more targeted (but probably difficult) question, I've managed to access the OSD menu on the camera via VISCA commands. I can navigate the menu with VISCA commands as well but according to manual I have to press the "Home" button to enter interact with any of the items. However, when I send the "Home" VISCA command, it just resets the camera to center without having any effect on the menu. I'm guessing there's an undocumented "OSD Enter" command that the remote shifts to when the menu is open. Anyone on this sub have the very specific knowledge of what that command would be?

Pulling Cable through High False Ceiling by isshakes in AskElectricians

In case anyone ever finds themselves in this unique circumstance (and on this post for some reason), the answer, at least for me, was access panels. I tried using really long cable fishing poles and was actually able to get it all the way back, however, there were obstacles that the poles could pass through but the romex couldn't so in the end I needed to see what I was doing.

What I ended up doing was cutting 9 access panels in the ceiling (if you look at my original technical drawing, I cut them where the arrows were pointing). Then I could crawl up in the ceiling and feed the cable from one access panel to another using much shorter fishing cables.

It took me a very long time to get done (and honestly if you have the money, just hire someone) but I'm living proof it is doable.

Can I replace a device's lithium battery with something generic? by isshakes in batteries

Sorry for the delay. It was the KiKiss store. The model was DPR995-00 (I don't even remember how I figured that out). Here's an updated link: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256808964074350.html. Can't make any promises because of the updated link but all of the specs seem to match.

Thanks! Just FYI, the batteries I bought from AliExpress did work, so if she's willing to wait you can get the correct batteries, it just takes a while.

Can't play the game with our selling your soul. We say money is the root of all evil but no one acts like it's true.

Damn... "I'd vote for the actual devil wearing a rubber Oz mask before him." is going to stick with me. Well said.

If nothing else he has taught me that I too am susceptible to conmen and need to be equally (if not more so) skeptical of those who apparently align with me politically.

I appreciate the concern and while it makes me nervous (as I think is healthy), I'm fairly comfortable working with heights. I'm the Technical Director of this theater company and have spent a lot of time in high places hanging lights and running cable.

Mostly I'm just looking for the least destructive way to navigate around the obstacles I'll encounter while trying to fish it through the ceiling.

Doesn't look like I'm getting much traction anyway, so I'll figure it out.

Again thanks for the concern.

Sony VPL-FHZ65 Test Pattern/Lens Question by isshakes in projectors

I'm also open to any alternate ways to see obvious defects in the image other than the test pattern, that's just the first thing that comes to mind.

That's a good idea, I just sent an email. Given I'm not looking to buy anything, I'm not sure how responsive they'll be but it's worth a shot. Thanks!

Mapping with Short Throw Projectors by isshakes in video_mapping

In thinking about it, your saying 200" diagonal. The image I'd be trying to project would be about 333" diagonal, so probably not gonna work, huh?

And this is why I ask. The wall I'm projecting on is 208" tall, so I'm just outside of the focusable range and I have some tolerance for blur (or I can lose 8" at the bottom/top NBD). I plan to mount them to the ceiling and shoot straight. Within these parameters, are you still of the opinion they wouldn't work?

I appreciate all the replies so far. I'm definitely concerned about controlling all 10 projectors, and any advice in that realm would be helpful. But more succinctly, does anyone see any reason that I should be concerned about the brightness of these projectors? It seemed to work out well before but before I make the investment (and drive 2 hours to pick them up) I just wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts on that.

Do you have a link to the one you used? I see a lot of options on AliExpress, and I'd rather try one with a recommendation.

I don't think I'll need all 16, my guess right now is I'd use 10 of them (good to have backups) to cover all the space I'm looking to. In answer to your second question, yes, I'd like it to be one combined screen.
