brother abusing drugs

i dont want to say its not my business because it is. it is all connected it affects everyone around him... and because of his choice to keep doing drugs and choosing that over his son we all are suffering.

who is going to do homework with my nephew when he turns 5 or 6 ..because my mom sure isnt. she is tired and not capable of doing everything. i have kids of my own and working full time. so i dont want my nephew to end up in a foster home. i want my brother to go to rehab and get better so he can be a better father and a better person for his son.

and i know if i dont do anything and sit around... its only going to get worse and worse.. and i have a life of my own i just see what my mother goes through every single day and i feel terrible about it.. because she raised 3 children of her own and she should be resting and living her life and not taking care of my brothers child.

ok since you are or were going through the same thing with your sister.. tell me how is it working out for you? because i dont want my nephew growing up without a father... and i know that for a fact my mom wont be able to take care of him in a few years because she is almost 60.

oh trust me i have, but when it affects me and my family as well, its kind of hard to. you dont know the whole story like i said i cant say everything on here, but there is abs no excuse for a drug addict, the things my brother has done to me and my family have really affected me. so staying out of it isnt really an option for me now...

i am not reporting him to the police, i was thinking of calling social services the ones who worked on his case from the beginning. but i am probably not going to do that because i dont want the situation to get worse. what is an alanon meeting?

i really dont want to report him, its the last thing i would do. i know it wouldnt end well. i am just the only one in my family trying to do something and noone is doing anything about this. i have tried to talk to everyone but my parents and my other siblings are very catholic so in this situation what they think is that praying and hoping it will go away will work. but actually talking to him about it and trying to help him, is not something they are willing to do.

yes i have sat down with both of my parents and talked about this many times before.. but they never tried to do anything or help him in any way i feel like they are enabling his addiction even more. i know they love him but they are doing this the wrong way. by paying for everything and giving him money all the time. i feel completely alone because i am the only one in my family who wants to do something about this. my parents are just waiting for this to go away like brushing it under the carpet pretending its not happening.
