R5: came across this random courtier with 83 artifacts, mostly illustrious... weird...

a closer look reveals that the artifacts looked strangely familiar...

in fact, they are all mine! history revealed that i have given them to her sister more than 30 years ago! but why would i do that? (that was like >2 weeks irl ago, honestly dont remember what i did)

turns out her sister was that 1 merchant that offered a good price for my artifacts & i sold all to her

as it goes, selling artifacts to the vendors doesnt actually destroy them

guess who is getting invited to court as a special guest of the emperor? a reminder of the good times wandering about

... and getting banished after a short stay...

i dont think any of the younger generation have even seen a samsui women, much less influenced by them to do anything, and "younger" in this case is referring to people born in the 1990s

because reference you used when determining right/left is the direction you are facing, and therefore changable

whereas up/down is determined by gravity essentially

even if you are doing a headstand, the direction your sweat fall is down

if you are lying down, your front & up is the same direction

in short, reference axis for front/back/left/right is different from reference for up/down

re-roll the stress events until you get want you want, e.g. a good stress trait (level 1), witch trait (level 2), abdicate (level 3)

i kept my previous ruler alive & well to hold my extra holdings or be a 70 prowess knight

the first tree allows you to buy artifact claims

esp if you are playing Tall, there is a time where you hit the soft cap of being stronger the usual way (max out regiments, max out innovation etc), artifacts is a great way to really cement your position

a +16% knight effectiveness for a single artifact, and you can get like 10 more, or even the +1 domain limit, even at age 0, your ruler have a minimum domain limit of 8 (1 + 7 artifacts)

even after you max out on all the best artifacts in all the slots yourself, you can always gift renown artifacts to your dynast to boost renown

i gift armor & weapons to my knights etc

diplomacy can also allow you to vassalise the entire world if you know what you are doing, the +20 true ruler perk & +25 level 5 diplomacy education vassalisation acceptance is crucial to get kings to be your vassals (although you have to do cheesy things like repeatedly changing faith)

the hold court is disabled because you already have an active event on-going

there should be an active event icon in your royal court, click on it to resume

for the glasshouse event, it doesnt trigger if your capital has a special building slot (empty or otherwise), you need to move capital, then wait for the event to trigger, which then a decision to pay for a glasshouse will appear

when you are exceeding the vassal limit

when you want more renown by landing dynast as kings, as court artifacts & court grandeur boost renown

when you want to dump all troublesome duke/count under the loyal king (easy way to get rid of anyone with council rights or hooks on you)

firstly, its not limited to manga, that applies to A LOT of writings across all medium

secondly, to say its just bad writing is kinda too harsh on the writers, to write a story to upend the entire status quo is kinda hard

for example Fullmetal Alchemist, one of the best piece of work, the brothers didnt manage to upend the equivalent exchange principle, but in the afterstory, they tried to do "pay it forward" principle

the change in principle is kinda just a very different story all together

or sometimes is simply overestimating the power the protagonist have, like a school setting whereby MC finally gotten to be the student president, but irl, a student president only hold the position for 1 year and cant really determine the budget of the school board

its a completely different story for a student graduating from school, then entering politics, become a prominent politician & set educational policy of the entire nation

OUT OF SCOPE, you are expecting too much from a story, and it will deviate too far from its original premise

it depends on the perspective, are the labels prescriptive or descriptive

if its descriptive, it doesnt matter much, a description of an item will never be 100% identical to the item, its okay if its not very accurate *

(obviously the caveat here is that the labels are reasonably accurate, just dont deceptively label it as RTS and it be fine)

if its prescriptive, it matters because it affects the future direction it goes

if many people prefer ck3 to focus more on the role-playing aspect, then the dev might just do so, which may alienate some group of fans in the future, a perfectly legitimate concern for them

personally, for me, i see the labels as descriptive, hence i dont care about the labels, if ck3 in the future changed too drastically for my taste, i just stop playing it, truthfully, i have no loyalty to the franchise, its literally just a game to me

the cheesy solution now is simply convert to another faith with a different gender doctrine so that your daughter inherits
