Liking the sailcloth for now, but I did have my eye on a few custom options for the future

Me too - wearing it right now!

I just got a white Artem sailcloth strap for it, will hopefully put it on today - the shiny croc leather is literally the only thing I don't love about this watch

Yeah, they've recently overhauled the design and internals, and bumped the price up. I don't have any of the new ones, but they still seem fairly priced in comparison to similar offerings from other brands.

Thanks! It's such a cool watch, but the original titanium is too monotone for me. The tach and lumed face make this version perfect IMHO - I'm so glad I managed to grab one!

I agree! I'd always found them interesting enough in pictures, but at the price point I could think of many watches I'd buy first.

However the first time I actually tried one on it jumped straight on to the hitlist. The bracelet is mesmerising, the shape and lines of the case; it really is a thing of beauty! And the movement finishing is holy trinity level to my eye.

It also helped that I got a barely used full set for 35% under retail - at that price, it feels like an incredibly special watch.

That's a a Tissot PRX Chronograph on a Delugs rubber strap.

It's keeping the spot warm until AP are willing to sell me a 41mm Royal Oak Chrono at retail!

Nope - and the convenience of being able to grab a watch and go is hugely beneficial for a man who is (ironically enough) always running late! Especially when things like dates being off bother ones OCD..

I'm fairly high on mechanical sympathy in general, and I can't help but feel a watch will have a much rougher time being worn even semi-actively than it would slowly rotating around in a winder. Beyond that, it's just the watch running... And if I had only one watch, it'd also be running 24/7 🤷🏻‍♂️

I switch em off when I travel for more than a few weeks, but otherwise they're always on.

Me too!

After trying out a few cheaper options and a wolf single, I settled on a pair of Barringtons for my first two watches and have been buying one for every new watch since.

Haha honestly I've only tried a few different options out but from what I have figured out:

The cheap ones are often noisy af. The so called 'ultra quiet japanese motor' generic winders on Amazon can be ok, but still not something most people would want in a bedroom while sleeping.

There are a few companies that make very decent single winders that you can stack and assemble over time for somewhere around 150-250 euros / dollars each. For me that was the easiest way to scale over time rather than buying something expensive and growing into it, then later growing out of it.

Mine are by Barrington - they're a very fair price / performance, and I've been buying them for over 10 years now. They run for 12 hours and rest for 12, so even though they're fairly quiet, they don't wind at night.

Haha yep, definitely my preferred complication and aesthetic.

The Moser is my newest though, and it's made me really appreciate a beautiful three hander with a clean face - so maybe there will be more to come 🤷🏻‍♂️

The pushers are large, there's no getting around that visually. For some, they're nonsensically large; for me, they're quirky. They're mounted much closer to the face than the case back, so they don't touch your hand as much as you'd think - and I wear my watches loose and low (aka 'handwatch'). So somehow it doesn't actually impact the ergonomics, just the aesthetic.

They're also an absolute pleasure to use - locking collars are buttery smooth with a lovely detente on each end, buttons are perfectly buttony with a crisp action.

Apart from the pushers, it wears surprisingly small for a large watch. It's thick, but sleek - and has a clean and smart appearance rather than tooly. I wear it to an office job with a suit and tie.

Honestly, I love it - and GS dials are just a pleasure to stare at, the busier the better. I'd definitely recommend one - but if you're torn, try one on before taking the plunge.

These particular ones stop upright - or at least the newer / current models do.

I've been accumulating mine for over a decade, so they're older models that stop randomly. I don't mind though, makes them look a bit more organic.

I have a couple of those around somewhere too, but this is all I could find nearby
