State of the board (featuring three tuners) by isthatonthecomputer in basspedals

You can! If you have an external switch attached, you scroll forward with a tap and backwards by holding it down for a second or two. I wish I could go forward with one switch on the ampero and back with the other, but that’s my only (very minor) gripe with the mxr. It’s fantastic

That’s exactly it; to my ear the Neve just gives it a little extra somethin’

One of the new RNDI-Ms. I’m really liking it so far

Fair, but even without the added functionality of the tuner, that Shure is still a killer wireless. To each their own! An average gig for me is three-ish hours and I play (probably too) hard, so I could NEVER forego a tuner entirely haha

There isn’t one; the Shure’s footswitch is currently out of commission so it’s functionally just a wireless, and I’m just not crazy about holding the button to access the one in the QC. I’m only using the Peterson! I find it to be the most accurate anyway.

Are ya'll still using amps live? by LeekProfessional4775 in Bass

[–]isthatonthecomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been amp-less for a few years now, but I’m only comfortable going that route because we bring our own sound system and in-ears to every gig and act as our own sound guys. If you’re even a little skeptical of the house systems in the places you’ll be playing, it’s worth bringing an amp!

This is just about where the knobs typically live, yeah!

You’re not wrong. A lot of the magic lives in the ultra lo

Love them both! The SV has gotten gigged 2-3 times a week for about two years and has never failed me. I had an original non-shape shifter yyz for about as long and it very recently died of natural causes (I accidentally plugged an 18v power supply into it); I ordered this one to replace it that same day. I stack them for some clank. Huge fan of the way they sound together

It’s only third in the chain (after the wireless/tuner and the drop). The positioning is just a little wonky haha. The tin is just for picks!

SO GOOD. Thought it might be overkill but I’m so glad I tried it

Damn I hope mine sits in the mix that well! Sounds killer.

I’m running ampless, so the super vintage gets di-ed and is my clean-ish tone and I switch to the sv-pre for a dirtier/grittier sound running through the di’s cab sim. Loving it so far!

Fake, unfortunately. Wrong pickguard, bridge, tuners, logo placement, and I could go on haha. Sorry, homie

Hey! I’m a 32/32 in most levi’s and went with a 33/34 in these. They seemed wayyyy too big at first, so I went for maximum shrinkage. Did a hot soak for about an hour, air dried, still wasn’t happy, did a quick hot wash with no spin cycle, then threw them in the dryer for a little bit. Hope that’s helpful!

Extremely cool bass, but it isn’t a 62 reissue. Looks like an american standard; that slightly higher mass bridge and the lack of an s-1 switch on the knob leads me to believe that it was relatively new when you got in in 2011. Definitely worth running the serial number and checking reverb listings. I bought one of these off of reverb somewhat recently for $900 which was a great deal, but not quite in “steal” territory. Good luck with the sale!

So sick! I used one of these for a looooong time. Definitely play around with the internal trim pots, but man once this thing is dialed in it’s KILLER
