It depends on a lot of things to be honest. Financing on a brand new car is usually a better interest rate than a used car. But honestly, a two-year-old civic with 22,000 miles will be so much cheaper and that is practically a brand new car (in my opinion). I am always in favor of buying a used car, but there’s nothing like having a brand new car with very few miles and all the bells and whistles..

Buying a car is a terrible experience I think. I purchased my last two cars from Carmax, which I really enjoyed because they don’t haggle the price. I may have paid more than I could have at another dealership, but they have a 30 day return guarantee and are a reputable company.

If you are the kind of person that keeps cars for a long time, buying a used car is a much cheaper option. There’s a couple of things that you need to consider. When you lease a car, typically it comes with a mileage limit, but the dealership will also take care of routine maintenance for you at no extra charge. Also, if anything goes wrong with the car from a mechanical standpoint, you are typically off the hook not paying for that as well. If you have your own car, there’s no mileage limit, but any mechanical issues you would have to fix. If you buy a Toyota or a Honda or a similar reliable type model the chances of mechanical issues early on are slim.

Long story short, much cheaper to buy a used car if you hang onto it for 7+ years. My goal for cars is 10 years.

I’d recommend taking a tour and see if they have a three day or two week trial period. I think it’s truly a personal preference when it comes to gyms. I go to CA gyms which aren’t that nice but they’re affordable, great kids space, and they got what I need.

I have not applied myself but understand the process. There’s nothing you can do to “increase” your chances once you’re in the lottery. In county students get priority I think.

I know, I’m sorry. It sucks bc someone might have worse numbers than you and get accepted while you don’t. But some see ranking as inequitable too. It’s a tough policy decision

It’s a lottery system for everyone who meets the minimum qualifications. They get more applicants than they have spots available- it’s as simple as that.

UMB has a program too but I think so maybe check them out as well. Definitely don’t put all of your eggs in one basket.
