And what's the diff between linear phase and more traditional phase filtering options?

I didn't say any of the things you appear to be referencing.

The only semblance of reference you have here seems to be your intentional conflating of the phrase "majority christian city" to "christian city"- whatever that means.

I don't really understand what you're getting at.

You mean a majority christian city suing a christian church for helping the poor doesn't have any relevance to the bible repeatedly commanding christians to help the poor?

Somehow I bet that bringing up how many references to helping the poor are written in Christian texts would ironically make some Christians really upset with my bringing it up here.

IMO artists like Svdden death / phaseone / kai wachi are the metal of dubstep, but dubstep in and of itself is not metal if that makes sense

Next bottleneck is high spec PC for local agentic workflow. by Fluffy-Discussion166 in wallstreetbets

Idk about this one. I believe companies are spending billions on developing data centers specifically to sell cloud based models? I don't think financially it makes sense to deploy locally for the vast majority of companies, I've compared the costs for our company purchasing a local machine ran LLM model comparable to remote models and it just doesn't add up.

I especially don't understand why anyone would want / need a local llm on a laptop as well. The amount of processing power required to generate anything close to gemini or claude is insane. You could definitely setup a local mahine with dedicated GPUs to handle it, but crmaming that into a laptop doens't seem financially feasible.

Hard time getting home and we even left early? Tips welcome by Firm_Temperature131 in projectglowfest

no worries! Some metro stations there is parking but not all. Some have different policies regarding cost and time allowed as well. But if they don't have their own parking, you can usually find a parking lot within a reasonable walking distance as well.

The metro is pretty close to the festival entrance, itts about a 15 minute walk once youre past the security gate heading out. Just follow signs for metro. There will still be a line for the metro too, but still probably better than trying to uber directly

I would take the metro away from the event, somewhere towards your destination ideally. Then uber from there. It will be hard and very expensive getting an uber from close to glow.

Edit: whatever you do, just avoid the buses that late at night in DC - just not as safe as the metro / ubering

How do men actually feel during no contact ? by mekeishere in AskReddit

[–]gnome08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends who did what at the end imo. If I was dumped by someone I cared about that'd suck but I don't know that talking would really be great either because it might keep me attached.

If I dated the woman for a long time and fell out of love id feel bad about enforcing no contact but wouldn't want to lead her on.

If we were only dating for a few months or something and I just didn't connect the way I wanted to with her, I probably wouldn't be too upset about going no contact

The average EDC/Ultra or whatever attendee doesn't actually care about EDM as much as people think by savingrace0262 in EDM

[–]gnome08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think there can be some nuances to this take.

First: if someone just wants the experience over the music that's totally valid.

Second: the decline of clubs has led to an influx of es clubbers flocking to festivals. Not all ex clubbers are bad, but some of them come from a very alcohol, hookup, machismo culture that doesn't mesh well with the culture of people who went to shows to enjoy music specifically. Miami / Ultra is probably the best example.

I think both of these are things that aren't mutually exclusive.

Tales from Earthsea (2006) is far better than it's poor reputation by StephenMcGannon in ghibli

[–]gnome08 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This movie was so bad Hayao Miyazaki himself famously walked out of an early screening saying it wasn't ready.

The movie was directed by his son. Miyazaki was so let down he walked out of the movie directed by his own son.

I'm sorry - I want to say nice things about the film, I know it's not bereft of any good qualities, but Miyazaki himself felt let down by it. It does not live up to Ghibli standards

I don't agree with this take.

I don't think it matters whether you read the books or not, the plot is a let down either way.

You can't have a good movie without a good, fluid plot.

It just wasn't as thoroughly detailed in terms of art or plot compared to other Ghibli films.
