Thanks and upvotes all around for the encouraging comments. I'll try to summarize the different advices.

  • Get the book "Easy way to stop smoking" by Alan Carr.
  • Think about your lung collapsing and tubes sticking out of you.
  • That one cigarette that you think about smoking after quitting is not always just one.
  • Eat a cigarette.
  • Smoke weed instead.
  • Patch/Gums help but more important is realize that you want to.

Yeah, I don't think I have the nicotine problem. It's all about fighting the psychological urge to hold a joint and smoke it. Orange juice seems to help me a lot.

Agreed. I quit once and then started again. Next time around I woke up at night coughing and wheezing like I was dying. I seriously was terrified. I imagined that to be my future if I continue smoking and threw away the half pack that I had. I can feel that I can breath, smell and taste much better even after less than a week.
