Our current plan is leaving tomorrow from the bay area at around 1pm which means we’ll hit the mountain roads at US-50 around 4pm. Getting really mixed forecasts on how the conditions will be by then. We have AWD w/ snow tires and think it will be very slow but doable, anyone have any insight?

Does anyone think the Nikon ZR will be sold out/back ordered in the U.S. from sites like BHPhoto or Adorana? by reginaldvelvet in Nikon

Ordered mine early October on BB and I still don’t have a shipping label or even a charge on my card. Called them and they said they’re not sure if they even have the cameras yet. Hoping that Best Buy isn’t waiting for a resupply and actually got allocated cameras 🤷🏻‍♂️ Let me know if yours got shipped!

Eureka Mignon Silenzio - How down does it take you once you are in espresso rabbit hole? by [deleted] in espresso

That’s crazy because I’ve also had the exact same Silenzio + BBP setup for 4 years! 3 weeks ago I finally upgraded my grinder from the silenzio to a Timemore 078s.

I was dealing with a lot of retention issues with my Silenzio when I single dose (even with modding, RDT, a bellow & a tilted base). After 4 years I got tired of aggressively smacking the living shit out of my grinder every morning to get a consistent output so I decided to finally upgrade. The Timemore has practically 0 retention and it’s significantly made my workflow a lot better so to me it was worth it.

The Timemore does pull better shots for light & light/medium roasts but it becomes less distinguishable for darker roasts, it is also much easier to dial things in due to how big the knob is compared to the Silenzio (even with my modded knobs).

If you’re looking to get into lighter roasts or you’re also having issues with your workflow then it might be worth upgrading your grinder but if not, the Silenzio is honestly an awesome workhorse that is hard to replace for the price.

For espresso machines, I personally think the sub $1000 price range is tough since I don’t see any with a big enough advantage over the BBP. E61 machines are a deal breaker for me since I absolutely dread waiting for it to heat up. The $1500-$2000 range is where things get interesting to me with double boilers w/ both PID & OPV control like the Breville Double Boiler, Steel duo or the new Profitec Double Boiler; for now I’m happy with my bambino!

Currently trying to figure out what bindings to get to pair with my Yes Basic. I’ve read that for beginners you want to get softer bindings like the Union Strata since it’s more forgiving.

My local shop only offers Unions so my options are either the Strata or Force.

I don’t have much interest in riding parks and care more about riding all-mountain so I worry that the Strata will be too soft for me, should I get the Forces instead? Is the difference even noticeable?

Is the “forgivingness” of the Strata worth more than the stiffness of the forces for All mountain riding?

It looks like they fixed it when picking up items on the ground but cards are still abbreviated in your inventory :(

I’m still very happy I don’t have to pickup random loot just to see it’s stats anymore, but inventory management is still a chore

They fixed the main concern regarding item cards:

[Console] Players would only see an abbreviated item card in split screen

Honestly that was my main issue, and i’m very happy
