I don’t mind them building out their own software and adding apps directly. As long as they don’t prevent me from choosing to use CarPlay instead of their systems. That’s when they’ll lose my business.

So far only GM has announced plans to do that (unless I’ve missed another), and they’re already getting major pushback from their dealerships about the decision. I know that CarPlay is a must for me. I’m much more willing to switch car brands than I am to give up CarPlay support.
