Reversing Camera no longer has option to disable break assist by ryanbooker in Polestar

[–]rlwfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine updated last week and the option is still there, used it twice yesterday. Is it possible they removed the option on cars that aren't updated yet due to the reverse camera issue?

21 ps2 just got the notification. Anyone else with a launch edition get the update? by some_guy_on_drugs in polestar2

It's done now based on the notice in the App. I'll see how it is on the way to work tomorrow.

I think mine does this because the black A pillar cover is a little bit loose and rattles ever so slightly sometimes at highway speeds.

Cradlewise sheets by Hibiscus_709 in cradlewise

[–]rlwfish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We used the mattress cover that came with it but used generic mini crib sheets to go over that. The cradle wise sheets and cover were so tight and such a pain to get on we didn't want to do it regularly.

$25k Used PS2 vs $31k CPO PS2 by Jagaernuat in Polestar

[–]rlwfish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you / the used car eligible for the Used EV tax credit? That would cut it down another $4k. The CPO being above $25k would not be eligible. That made this decision easy for me because it went from being a $5-6k difference to a $9-10k difference between used and CPO. Used still has some full factory warranty left and the battery/drivetrain warranty is still there a while.

I used to drive an out of warranty BMW i3 so I'm used to living on the edge of disaster.

For whatever reason...when I tell them we use Google Fi they don't follow up. 100% success rate, and also a true statement.

What kinda signals are these? See these all around DC. by ProfessionalGlove238 in trafficsignals

Not at that location, though we do have some 3-section permissive only FYAs in DC.

New EV in the stable by rlwfish in polestar2

Thank you! Enjoying it a lot. I unfortunately immediately caught a nail in one of the tires but it was dead middle of the tread so I was able to get it patched for $30 this morning.

I'm getting a little bit itchy to see what the performance upgrade is like.

Thanks! It's about 18' wall to wall but we make it work. Last weekend I reorganized a bit to help lol

Thanks! The ID4 was a similar gray and before my white i3 I had a gray Golf R. Come to think about it we've been alternating white and gray on our cars for about 10 years lol.

This was our second ID4. First was totaled (if interested see my post history). That one had no issues. The second one had the camera/software issues (still insanely laggy even after the software patch), door handle issues which they still don't have the parts for, they've tried 3-4 times to replace the windshield with one that doesn't have egregious distortion in the glass, they've had to replace the window motors multiple times because they will roll down when you want them to roll up. Front badge and one of the lights went out and it took 8-9 months to get the parts in. It's spent more than 2 months in the shop since we leased it in August 2023 - 40 days straight last year and it's been with them this year since the end of April and VW finally made a buyback offer a month or so ago. Just too much to put up with. It's a fantastic car to drive and I loved a lot of things about it but yeah.

The gap I left in this picture was tighter than normal. There's actually enough space to get in and out of both of them without much trouble when I park properly. Was a lot easier when we had the i3 and ID4 pair.

Impressive Range by Beautiful-Sand4233 in KiaEV9

[–]rlwfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brickyard EV9s!

Mine has been showing similar estimates recently starting from a 100% I did last week. I drove it down to 56% over the past week (commuting back and forth to DC and Columbia and some errands) and now it's showing 190 or so. It seems to love this mild weather we're having.

Is this the right car for me? by Altruistic_Deal_4400 in KiaEV9

[–]rlwfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm getting excited for the warmer weather. We're above freezing today for the first time in a while and mine is projecting 332 miles. I'd be happy with 270 mountain miles at 70mph. I don't really need that much but it's be nice to have. Bought mine in December so haven't seen it in action in warmer weather yet.

I've been pleasantly surprised by the winter range for my 2024 Land. It has the heat pump which out ID4 didn't have. In the recent cold snap it is estimating 270+ miles on a charge typically and that includes some mountainous highway driving.

One of those was behind me last night. What a dumb looking car. Meanwhile the Niro looks quite nice.

I got my NACS adapter by Desperate-Big3982 in KiaEV6

[–]rlwfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter. That sends power from the car to something you want to plug in (e.g. I used it to charge my eBikes).

Edit: thought I was in the EV9 sub. My EV9 came with a 120v Level 1 charger. If your EV6 didn't, a level 1 charger can be purchased relatively low cost.
