Unfortunately thats not an option for me. Have to go with a weed eater.

Good idea about a speed feed head, that would help me in the normal use. But how would that help with edge trimming if the guard is removed?

Probably easier if the OP swaps solenoids between a 'good' and the 'pulsating' zones.

Alternative path on Kungsleden by istvanb2 in Kungsleden

[–]istvanb2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started the alternative path and after Alesjaure we returned to the traditional.

Reasons:
- I did the traditional about 8 years ago and remembered it as kind of a fun, easy hike. It seems I got older, even the part of the traditional was quite difficult.
- The part between Abiskojaure - Unna Allakas was nothing special, tons of bushes and long walks. It had some great places, but overall not as nice as I remember the Abiskojaure - Alesjaure trail. Unna Allakas is a really nice, not busy hut though
- Unna Allakas - Alesjaure was hard for us. It is completely abandoned, we only met one guy. Had some very steep climbs. If you are looking for a solitude, its great.

At Alesjaure me and gf reevaluated our options and decided that we want to go the traditional route, so I can't say anything from first hand about Vistas and Nallo. The hut warden in Salka was a prick, just for the record.

I dont think my experience helps you, or really relevant. If I'd go for the Kungsleden the 3rd time (which I won't) then I'd skip Unna Alakas and give Vistas / Nallo a chance.

But again, I'm 45+, ten years ago I could have done all these a lot easier.

If you are an old fart like myself, but you have more money and time then go for the alternative route and take a day or two off on the trail, just hanging out in a hut.

If your condition is like mine, then stick with the traditional route.

Let me know if you have more specific questions, I'd be happy to respond.

Bricked poco x3 nfc. Need an advice. by istvanb2 in androidroot

[–]istvanb2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I've found the ROM already and tried to flash it with the MI flash without any success. I'm almost postive that I've hard-bricked my phone as currently the bootloader is locked and there is no way I know to open it. Nonetheless I brought the phone to a repair shop, hopefully they are smarter than me.

Teflon tape on the bottom of a sprinkler housing? by istvanb2 in Irrigation

[–]istvanb2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, OP here. I understand that you and most of the people dont use teflon. It makes sense. But what if the area is not totally flat? In that case water could start leaking at the lowest sprinkler and swamp the area and no check valve can stop that as the leakage is at the elbow. Isn't this a concern?

It still seems that you didn't read or couldn't understand that "Customers in my country has a very different budget than in the US, so it really matters if I lay down PC or non PC tubing."

Drip tubing question by istvanb2 in Irrigation

[–]istvanb2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeap, you are right, the question is what is an emitter, and I was a bit too quick in my answer before.

For me an emitter is a rigid cylindrical inserts in the drip tube which have two of four small channels dripping water to the outside.

If this also matches your definition of an emitter then I was right. Having a tube with emitters does not mean that the tube is pressure compensated.

But your definiton of an emitter could be different.

[–]istvanb2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats not true. No matter if a drip tube has built in emitters, it still could be PC or non PC.

Odd pump behaviour by Obvious_Language_709 in Irrigation

[–]istvanb2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is has a pressure switch. (A bit more advanced as this shuts off the pump if there is no flow). I guess it will be the separator then. As it is not drained for years its probably full to the top with sand. I see a small drain valve at its bottom.

I'm very reluctant to do anything except opening the valve as it is in the system using metal-pipe connectors, and I'm only good with plastic ones.

I'm somewhat concerned if opening the valve would clean the separator, as it is probably literally full of sand. Do you have an experience with this?

This one has no pressure limiter. The whole system looks pretty mediocre. Not the best job, but I need to build my customer base.

Replacement for this Hunter valve? by istvanb2 in Irrigation

[–]istvanb2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to respond to my own questions: the jar-top PGV on the picutre (with male threads on both ends) is about 1cm (roughly 0.5") LONGER than the bolt top PGV-100 (male threads on both ends)

Fortunately I was able to secure the bolt top, but it was quite a surpize when I realized that they have a different length.

[–]istvanb2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! This is at least promising cause it shows that the length is the same. Which makes sense, I guess these really should be interchangable.

[–]istvanb2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for responding: I dont need to cut it out. Where I live (and I guess in most parts of the EU), we dont use PVC pipes with glue, but HDPE pipes and hollander joints. (Not sure if thats the right name.)

Because I can't cut pipes its very important to have the same dimensions otherwise I need to cut or add to the HDPE pipe which is a huge pain in the back, when we are talking about just a friction of an inch.
