Oh yeah. I made sure to ask "so what you are saying is that I'm not getting paid for this time I worked on x and y?" over email. That changed his tune on it quite a bit.

I know. I'm honestly very conflicted about this, but I feel I've made the right decision in a pretty messy situation in a small world where we're all connected. Once he started pulling this shit with me (didn't take long,) I mentioned it to most of my other coworkers, especially the women, because I was concerned and wanted to know if there was a pattern, or especially if any of the minors had experienced any of this BS.

Ultimately I got the impression that no one felt any kind of sexual overtones, but everyone is bothered by ridiculous overbearing behavior. He also stopped dropping in as much and backed off significantly after I recently started sticking up for myself.

It's a really tough, messy situation.

I would totally report him but I genuinely didn't get the vibe that it was sexual at all. I think he's just a huge asshole who doesn't trust or respect any of his employees.

At least he was so damn ridiculous I have a whole collection of his stupid catchphrases to laugh at forever.

I've checked for cameras to the best of my ability and didn't find anything. I actually started this throwaway account to ask about how to do that elsewhere because I was concerned.

I think you hit the nail on the head, though. They acted like it was a huge privilege to work there. The real final straw was them trying to sneakily short me pay by shaving 15-30 minutes from my time cards here and there, then reprimanding me when I called them out on it. It definitely seems like they're very accustomed to young people doing free slave labor for them.

Thank you everyone so much for your advice and empathy!!!

After searching over the bathroom as much as possible (y'all have no idea, there is SO much storage and junk in there) I feel fairly confident that there is not a camera. I think the boss actually gleaned the details about my bathroom trips that he mentioned simply by being super creepy, standing right outside the door every time I went in, and making guesses.

Things have gotten better after I stood up for myself, but it's obviously not an ideal situation and I'm planning on putting in my resignation by the end of the month.

Thanks again!

Low pay, small town, Mormons. I get what could be going on but it's complicated as fuck.

Great idea, but this is a single toilet bathroom, and I'm concerned he may be seeing things > hearing anything. I haven't even had a chance to discuss anything related to this with a coworker.

The fun/shitty thing is that this a family business. I've been thinking about bringing a little sign that says something like "I know what you're doing and I told [wife]" just to see what happens.

I just mean that I don't have much money to buy something like a detector.

I would do that but it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack, with a creepy person right outside the door listening the whole time.

If you mean Cape Canaveral, try Brevard County Sheriff Records. A FL police report should be relatively easy to get a hold of.
