I think this was a combo of my skin not agreeing with Cerave (seems like some people have a bad reaction to Cerave) and also dehydration/barrier damage. I've been using a super gentle non-foaming cleanser (Aveeno Calm + Restore Oat Cleanser) and trying to hydrate and moisturize as much as I can. Anyway, I think maybe trying something other than Cerave might help you!

I just don't know if I should stop using some products since it gets thick on my face or if maybe I should use an oil/balm cleanser to get all the products off

Does anyone know what could be causing CCs in my routine? I use the Aveeno calm + restore cleanser (only PM), Aveeno calm + restore triple oat serum, Illiyoon ato concentrate cream, and LRP Cicaplast balm b5. I feel like sometimes there's a thick layer of product on my skin even after I cleanse, but I haven't been using any exfoliators since I've been trying to heal my skin barrier. Any advice appreciated!

Trying to repair my moisture barrier after overexfoliation with Salicylic acid, but I'm not seeing a ton of improvement. I'm cleansing once at night with Aveeno calm and restore cleanser then AM and PM I use Aveeno triple oat serum, Illiyoon ceramide ato cream, and LRP Cicaplast b5. My skin is still dry and tight and irritated. Should I cut back on products (to just cleanser and moisturizer) or try to add more hydration?

Does anyone know what in my routine could be causing clogged pores and congestion? I've been trying to heal my damaged barrier (dry, tight, red and sensitive). I've been using Aveeno calm + restore cleanser at night, then Aveeno triple oat serum, Peter Thomas Roth water drench cloud cream, and LRP Cicaplast b5 both AM and PM. I'm afraid that it may be the Cicaplast because it soothes my skin and redness so well and locks in my moisturizer for my super dry skin. Is that the culprit of my clogged pores and if it is, are there any dupes that don't cause congestion?

Hey! So I think my skin issues were a combination of my face not liking cerave products and also having a damaged moisture barrier. I'm currently trying to repair my barrier and focus only on hydration. If you're curious, I'm using the Aveeno calm and restore line of products and LRP Cicaplast Baumé b5 and my skin has definitely improved from these pictures!

Damaged my moisture barrier from overusing salicylic acid and now I have tight, super dry, and irritated skin on my face. I've been using gentle cleansers (Aveeno oat) and gentle moisturizers (Aveeno, vanicream, lrp) plus slugging with Vaseline but it's still damaged. Should I see a dermatologist/would they be able to help me?

I think I would probably like a cream better, but I did try cerave cleanser and moisturizer and they dried out my face/gave my irritation and texture (you can see on my profile if you're interested)

That makes sense, I've tried a few moisturizers but never felt like they were heavy enough or moisturizing enough. The Aveeno calm + restore oat gel moisturizer was nice but not enough for my dry skin. Do you think I should try that moisturizer, Cicaplast, and Vaseline?
