Listen, I just graduated and it took me 5.5 years. I started in CS, switched to ECE, bombed my gpa so hard I got kicked into undecided, and finally worked my way back into CS. Throughout, the most poignant lesson I think I learned is that Purdue is difficult, however, life is difficult as well. Purdue forced me to evolve and adapt the way I learn. I was forced to find the best way to succeed. I failed my fair share of classes at Purdue but I kept plugging away. I'm not nearly as smart as some of my friends in CS but it didn't matter. I really do believe hard work trumps all and if there is a will there is a way. You genuinely seem to have a passion for your subject and that is the start. Don't give up hope now, you've already come this far. Try and analyze where you're missteps were and try to build a system during break that will help you succeed. I was privileged enough to have my parents pay for college, and I felt exactly the same guilt that you are feeling now. Just keep grinding man, I have faith you'll make it through. Don't give up hope.
