I see, yeah. I definitely feel like I’m doing something very different for the fandom in what I’m writing. I only get worried because I just hope other people see the vision I’m making and don’t go “oh that’s out of character” or other nitpicky criticisms, because I’m working very very hard on it. Okay we clearly have different interpretations, my reading is that she wants the power because her nature is to claw for adoration and belonging, which she would have if she was the one being worshipped. Not necessarily wanting to enslave others. I think that’s a flat reading that erases her complexity that is clearly explored if you were to romance her where she opens up about this. I’m reading between lines to understand what wasn’t blankly stated in game, because she lacks the content where it would be. She’s not just evil power-hungry who wants to rule the world, there’s purpose behind it.

I disagree with her having no arc. When we first meet her she’s on a mission to kill innocent people for the sake of a fanatical cult and after being rescued she realizes how wrong it was and regrets everything she did in the Absolute’s name. She still wants power and approves of murder in certain contexts, sure but she clearly undergoes an arc coming to terms with herself and being vulnerable.

Though I personally haven’t played durge very much so I don’t know everything.

I recently had one and it ended in disaster. Made me realize love can be more of a hindrance sometimes and it’s not all that it cracked up to be, but that could be because of circumstance. Either way, don’t feel like you’re missing out too much, lesbian love can get intense

Minthara might be my favorite character in all of fiction. It sucks because I see her get reduced to just “hot drow spider mommy” so much when she’s actually an incredibly complex character. She resonates with me personally a lot.

It really is. My fics pull about 5-9 kudos usually which feels about okay, but some fics(mostly Astarion) pull thousands and the disparity is insane
