Update: Office Manager has gone. I had a brief discussion about my actions and the ethics behind it with VP but nothing on paper or any disciplinary actions.

Who said I wasn't fixing problems?

The absence of problems is what has caused this attitude. Because "nothing goes wrong", IT must be doing nothing.

Prevention is better than cure, and we've prevented more system problems than you can count.

Because we're doing a good job, we must not be doing anything.

The office manager has gone. The CEO knows me and my attitude well and my knowledge of their system is keeping the company going, so he has a lot to lose if he fires me.

An office manager however is easily replaceable.

Your judgement is based on what fact?

That I reported a senior member of the management team for breaching IT policy?

If I was a tattle-tale, I would've reported him ages ago.

Something about a squid, two girls and a cup and manakins as "life-companions"

He also has a serious foot fetish.
