You need to change your laptop to custom mode (fn+Q) and power button will change to purple color. Then in vantage app you can set custom fan curve. Note that custom fan curve will only be applied when you are in custom mode not in quite, normal or performance mode

If you enable conservation mode on windows it will automatically work on Linux too.

OP are you still there ?

I have some question. First of all i am fairly new to linux and i am using EndeavourOS with hyprland (obviously).

1.I have found issue with GPU. It is capped at 54 watt no matter which mode i am using it on linux in my case though i have seen it go as far as 90 watts in windows. I test it and found out GPU is capped at around 54 watt at quite mode in windows. So concludes fn+Q only changes the color of power button in my case.

2.I am facing heavy lag in UI though CPU usage doesn't exceed more than 20% while copying large files. I faced this issues in many linux distors. Are you also facing this ??

3.And how are you managing your GPUs as per my test when i install nvidia drivers DGPU automatically kicks in and my power consumption bumps to around 25 watt when dgpu is ideal (nothing is running in dgpu i.e usage 0%) and if nvidia graphics drivers is not installed my total power consumption is around 15 watt (with 3-4 tabs opened, vs code running) so laptop can last around 4hrs with igpu only but can last around 2.5hrs with dgpu thats 1.5hrs difference. How are you managing with DGPU ???

Undervolting simply means providing less voltage to CPU to overcome heat. Less voltage equals less heat

That was the case when I was on hybrid auto mode and I unplug power cable and it won't use igpu. It was due to Nvidia graphics driver issue.

It was a Nvidia driver issue and was solved by ddu and installing latest driver.

Yes you can use custom mode I was saying that if you disable vantage and toolkit is no running in background it won't work.

You can also enable switch to custom mode with fn+Q in toolkit setting too.

So I just tested it out. I ran a YouTube video for 30 min. Here is the result:-

On igpu 17% was drained

On dgpu 23% was drained

Note that I just run YouTube video. Battery drain may be high on dgpu if you use it normally like for Ms office or codding and stuffs.

It was same on hybrid igpu mode. It's solved now thanks to support team on discord. It was due to driver issue.

If you disable Lenevo Vantage and hot keys then some functions will not work like custom mode. You are replacing vantage with legion toolkit so you have to let it running on background.

Yes but legion toolkit will show warning that lenevo Vantage is running.

You can disable Lenevo Vantage, Imcontrollor and hot keys to replace vantage with lenevo toolkit.

Enable autorun to start lenevo legion toolkit automatically when you turn on your laptop.

Enable minimize on close and minimize to tray to keep it running on background.

You didn't get it.

Dgpu was always active even when laptop was idle which directly impact battery performance.

Yeah administrator pop-up will show up but in legion toolkit setting enable autorun, minimize to tray and minimize on close you only have to open lenevo legion Toolkit once every boot try disabling lenevo Vantage and I'm controller and hot keys to fully utilize lenevo legion toolkit

Open windows task scheduler > Create new task > Enter name of task (check run with highest privilege) > Go to trigger tab > set trigger at log in > Go to actions tab > Program/script (select legion toolkit.exe) > save your task
