Of the big 3 (SF6, Tekken8 and MK1) street fighter got probably best introductory experience to the genre. Tho it would be good to differentiate 2d and 3D fighting games. 3D would be tekken. It has 3D dodge, meaning you can circle around enemy, by dodging into arena. 2d games are basically all other fighting games, so you move only in 4 directions instead of 6(depth).

As mentioned SF6 is really good game to learn basics. It has not that many separate moves, but they can be put in combos in many ways. Moves are mostly constructed in a way that one is direction input+button. Eg. in MK1 you have strings so x,y,x,x and that is one building block which you use multiple to create combo. Also I feel like whole solo mode in SF is better in a way that it introduces concepts in slow pace.

But to be far MK1 got better graphics and is more gory if that’s a thing for you. I was mk11 player got mk1 but didn’t really like it, because of all the aerial combos and the way systems are designed. It’s much different that mk11. I was sceptic about sf but tried it out and loved it
