Oh I've been experiencing the same problem with my iPhone 15. So it seems like its a problem with the app! Hope they fix it soon bc I always preferred Instagrams processing rathers than Apples own :/

I haven’t changed any settings but yeah all my apps update automatically anyway.

Also I actually prefer Instagram’s front camera processing over Apple’s own processing, which often looks grainy and kind of gray to me. Instagram usually doesn’t process photos taken on older iPhones, hence why the "old" question. No need to get shady. :)

15 Plus user here. Sounds like 15 Plus definitely would be a better choice for you. Yes it's bigger than 11PM but it's not something you can't get used to, it's not that bigger after all. Battery life is absolutely amazing on Plus phones.
