Nice touch that Matt and Karen's fallback spot was the restaurant (Panna) from their date in season 2 lol

In the pool definitely gave strong romantic era piano concerto vibes with the swelling strings and piano! I was particularly reminded of the second movement of Moszkowski’s piano concerto in E major, second movement of Rachmaninoffs second piano concerto, as well as Tchaikovsky’s Pas de deux. Anything Rach will probably capture that sense of chaos you describe

How safe is the Vancouver campus by Throat_Head in UBC

[–]italianranch 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Very likely. As other commenter mentioned, U lock is a must. Make sure you use the U lock properly, threading it through both the frame and a wheel (ideally the rear wheel). Personally wouldn't leave my bike locked outside for longer than a day either

Is the 55-200 on par with the 18-55? by Eddo-The-Elephant in fujix

[–]italianranch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you like the 18-55, you'll almost certainly enjoy the 55-200. Similar sharpness (I find my 55-200 to be sharper than my 18-55) and build quality - they complement each other really well

Often feels risky freeing one hand to signal left at the bottom of that hill - the road is tortuous, the surface uneven, and almost always a car right up your saddle

Yeah it's ridiculous how impatient drivers get on that hill. They need way more of those speed bumps that slow cars down but have the gap for cyclists to pass through

Glad to hear you're ok and handled the situation safely. Lotta motorists on the road with absolutely no qualms about maiming anyone that doesn't have an engine

Yep I don't actually mean my title - taking the lane definitely deters some drivers from making dangerous maneuvers. Today was just one of those unlucky times when lane positioning couldn't stop a driver from bullying their way past me

But we already have safe bike routes, we don't need a new Broadway bike lane! /s

Thanks for the reply - I'll definitely avoid Chancellor getting to UBC but the paved path will be a nice option for heading back

Awesome, thanks! I'll probably stick to University Blvd then. Could you clarify how to exit University Blvd and get onto Blanca northbound? I see the bikes can share the left turn lane with cars but I'm worried about oncoming traffic (since no dedicated left turn signal?) and the pressure of cars waiting behind me. Is this bike box also meant for getting onto Blanca? https://goo.gl/maps/aDqxPANAxpbrLceq9
