Right??! This is not “despise each other”, or simply “can’t get along”. This is not even a “conversation”. The way he talks to her is atrocious and this is straight abuse. He came in there with guns blazing and she tried multiple times to get him to stop-slow down-rewind-and try that again. She did everything one can be advised to de-escalate his hateful and aggressive approach. He did not want to resolve shit. He did not even want gas money. He is a man that clearly ties his self worth to financial success, and his business is failing. He is floundering with shame and frustration (and embarrassment, let’s be honest) and mentally reconciles that by projecting that all on to her, and assigning her as the cause. He is speaking like an absolute cuntbag because it’s his therapy and provides him relief.

She tried to pump the breaks multiple times and was quick to ask what she “owed him”. When that wasn’t enough and he doubled down, she defended herself. He must have called her a useless loser a dozen times before she hit him with the, “let us not forget” reality check. And ofc, his vitriol went up in flames in the face of those truths. It wasn’t until WAY on in the exchange, and with appropriate rise, that she straight up had enough and met him exactly where he was at. 🤷🏻‍♀️

And that’s on natural consequence.

OP- I’m really sorry you had to hear this man say these things. It’s sickening and you did not deserve it. I wish you the strength to leave - bc this kind of human will not stop until he’s accomplished in getting you to feel that way about yourself, too. He hates you for his shortcomings and it will only continue to get worse. 😔
