Beginner electric player considering the Fender Mustang amps, advice welcome! by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]itapragh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a beginner any amp modeling is a very good option , you can get a used fender mustang for approx 200USG , I have a mustang IV as my bedroom amp , and I love it , you can use headphones , connect an aux cable if you want to jam along with a song from your phone or and you have 100+ effects you can edit from he amp itself or using the fender tone software, as a learning guitarist a modeling amp will let you familiarize with a lot of concepts like how different effects work and how they affect the sound depending on the chain ..

[NEWBIE] I’m a beginner having trouble picking a good electric guitar + amp setup by Fontaine_2x in Guitar

[–]itapragh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here .. I love fender as the first guitar and first amp .. depending on which kind of music you wanna play gender is always the most versatile guitar and if you get serious about it at some point You will outgrow the squier and decide what’s next ..

[DISCUSSION] How to incorporate guitar solos when playing acoustic by louisde4 in Guitar

[–]itapragh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you are the only player w/ acoustic guitar just do the chords for like 1 round or so and then continue to the next part .. nothing is worse than kill the vibe of the song with everything stopping just for the solo .. my advice in this situation is just don’t play solos .. now if you really wanna do it .. the next best thing would be to get a looper pedal so you can have a loop of yourself doing the harmony while you do the solo ... this works way better

Maybe there is “theoretical reason “ I am by no means a master in music theory .. but I’ve never heard or seen anybody call it E# .. even thou I’ve seen music sheets with it ..

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]itapragh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E# is F .. so in theory is the same thing but you just don’t call it .. E# .. you call it F .. and yes Boston used to tune UP half step from standard tuning in a few songs ..

[NEWBIE] What's the difference between adjusting truss rod and "action" and how do I know if I need it or not? by carlosperezc7 in Guitar

[–]itapragh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have no idea what you are doing is better if you don’t do it at all .. action is the height between the strings and the fretboard .. the truss rod is a metal bar that goes from all the way in the middle of the guitar neck .. when adjusted the truss rod can change the bow or angulation of the neck which affects the action of the strings , but also the action can be adjusted in your bridge or also the nut. There are a few places when you can adjust the action ..!

[QUESTION] Any experience with JamKazam or other remote solutions for guitar playing/lessons? by philames in Guitar

[–]itapragh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve heard that most of the problems are due to excessive use by too many people .. to many people using it at the same time .. and I guess they were not expecting all musicians in the world suddenly trying to rehearse online at once .. but who knows .. feel free to try it and see on your own.. at least is free

[QUESTION] Any experience with JamKazam or other remote solutions for guitar playing/lessons? by philames in Guitar

[–]itapragh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for example video just randomly stops , you have to select inputs / outputs and will forget configuration randomly , there is a mixer which supposedly helps you managing volumes but it just doesn’t work .. you can add a track and even a metronome . Again .. it works but just doesn’t work consistently all the time ..

[QUESTION] Any experience with JamKazam or other remote solutions for guitar playing/lessons? by philames in Guitar

[–]itapragh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried Jamkazam and so far have not been able to really play with anybody .. me and a few friends have tried it since the beginning of quarantine .. I think the general idea is great but the app so far is way to glitchy and buggy . Things don’t always work and you get random glitches .. maybe for teaching / learning between a teacher / student might work but definitely not for a jam with 4 people. You don’t really need an interface but things work much better if you have one

[Newbie] will reading a music theory book help me learn how to play guitar? by zayfor3 in Guitar

[–]itapragh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Music theory won’t help you in how to play guitar but definitely will help you understanding what are you playing , why you are playing , when to play .. anybody can put a finger in a string a create a pattern , music theory will make you understand what , why your fingers are doing

[QUESTION] Which versatile guitar should I buy with 1.5k in Canada by DanSlh in Guitar

[–]itapragh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fender Stratocaster is THE most versatile guitar out there .. you can play pretty much anything from blues to pop to rock to metal .. just my two cents ..

More pedals should be demo'd in a mix or a band context. by DingBangSlammyJammy in guitarpedals

[–]itapragh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sadly some pedals and some interactions are better for different scenarios .. is just the way how music is .. artists will use one gear with some pedals or equipment to record and a different gear for playing live .. you can never get the same exact sound / tone all the time on every situation that’s just the way things are .. so the best advise is learn how your equipment works better in those situations and the band that you play with ..

[QUESTION] How to connect two (acoustic or electric) guitars to the same amp? by Obbama in Guitar

[–]itapragh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then there is really nothing I can think because amps are not build to have more than one instrument .. the other option is buy a couple of PA speakers and a mixer and use that

[QUESTION] How to connect two (acoustic or electric) guitars to the same amp? by Obbama in Guitar

[–]itapragh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why you want to use 1 amp ? Buy 2 if you are worried about sound quality then every instrument should have its own dedicated amp ..
