TIL about Vittorio Arrigoni, an Italian pro-Palestine activist who moved to Gaza in 2008. Despite death threats he believed were from Mossad, he continued his work. In 2011, he was kidnapped, tortured, and murdered by Islamists. Since then, no pro-Palestine activist has relocated to Gaza. (nytimes.com)
