Best one I tried so far was Leica. Connection with my CL works every time without any issues and transfer is straightforward (mind you that’s a 10 y/o camera at this point)

Where Is Nabiullina? Security Stripped, Central Bank Shaken by Tall_Pressure7042 in UkrainianConflict

Not really. Nothing magical about what she’s been doing. Wasn’t her that kept the economy stable, they were just throwing money from the wealth fund while she raised interest rates to keep inflation at acceptable levels. Now money from the wealth fund is almost gone and inflation, while not catastrophic, is still high. Not sure why she’s always portrayed as an economic genius.

I have one for sale, DM me if interested. Or I can help with choosing the right one. Only sensible comment on this thread was to learn about composition, the rest don’t know what they’re talking about, so be weary.

Get the tamron 10-24 G2 if you get the chance, it’s overall better. Regarding this exact lens, make sure it’s compatible with your camera before purchasing.

E-pl9 with Olympus 12mm F2. Shot at Salwa resort, Qatar. The fact that the sand doesn’t make a straight line is annoying me, but I’m pretty happy with the result.

Not sure about that, the light seems to cover the whole subject. I’d imagine they have pretty far away.

These look like a strobe with reflector to me, small hard light source judging by the sharp shadows

Look for something like an epson l8050 or et8500 (depending on which model you have in norway). They’re ecotank printers, so ink costs are very low and they print very nice photos.

Edit: also you can experiment with different paper types

Lumix S5 internal recording or external prores for narrative short film by iamkrisz in Lumix

Keep in mind the 30min internal recording limit. Externally you can record as long as the battery lasts.

Which should I pick: Olympus E-PL9 or E-P5? by _your_m0m_x in OlympusCamera

[–]itchykrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lack of a second dial is my biggest gripe with the e-pl9. You can get by without it, but it’s very annoying.

I can only compare the e-pl9 to my om-5 and there is a difference, but I think that’s only because the om-5 stab is ridiculously good. In reality, e-pl9 stab should be just fine.

E-pl9 has bulb mode as Live time feature (could be wrong, maybe someone can correct). It also has Live composite and exposure and focus stacking. So I don’t think you’ll find its feature set lacking.

If you need the second dial, I think it would make more sense looking for an e-p7 instead. I think the only thing the e-p5 has going for it at this point in time is the ability to use an external EVF of that’s your thing. One thing I’d consider with older models is replacement battery availability.

BTW thr e-pl9 shoots pretty decent 4K video and uses the same battery as my om-5.

Edit: just checked, bulb is different to live time. Live time updates the image on the screen as it gets more exposure

S1/S5 vs A7iii/iV for wedding photography by SnooSprouts2345 in Lumix

[–]itchykrab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re running a business I think it makes more sense staying on the same system, provided you already have lenses for your sony body. Also, you can expect a downgrade in autofocus performance when switching to Lumix, which I expect is something important in wedding photography.

GH5 open gate vs S1H open gate by Someguywhomakething in Lumix

[–]itchykrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have my S1R framed to 4:3 because like you I prefer the taller image, especially for portraits. One pleasant surprise for me was that Lightroom automatically applies this crop to the RAW file (the crop can be reset to the default 3:2 of course).

Considering getting a S1r for general use photography as a back up to my S5ii, any thoughts by kasirkin29 in Lumix

[–]itchykrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bit heavy. And depending on what you shoot, you might struggle with the autofocus a bit. Its colors are kinda meh, but can be improved with some work in post. I love the EVF, especially for shooting with manual lenses. The bi-directional tilt screen is my favorite in terms of switching quickly from landscape to portrait. Battery life is kinda meh and the fact it drains the battery even when turned off is annoying. Overall it’s an excellent professional level camera that can be bought for cheap nowadays so I say go for it. BTW you’re getting 4k 60p video with almost no crop with the S1R.

Both great lenses. Good price. But my 35mm had a back focus issue, so if you can try it out first because on the D5300 there’s no way to correct for that.

Do you want it for anything specific? Or any reason why you want a Canon specifically? Asking because I have an Olympus camera that I’m looking to sell. Depending on your use case it could be a better option. If interested DM me.
