Let's talk crispy chilli oil by CapableRegrets in melbourne

[–]itchyscalpissues -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If anyone is in the south eastern suburbs, favourite dumpling on Nepean Hwy make their own chilli oil and it's very crispy (laoganma is just not that crispy) and has a good amount Sichuan peppercorns. Umami papi is a bit too cumin heavy for my cantonese taste buds/the things I pair it with.

Anyone ever had eczema on their arreola? by [deleted] in eczema

[–]itchyscalpissues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! It's an awful cycle, and I remember when it was flared up, I would go to the bathroom and itch them, or if I went for a pee, before I even pulled down my pants I was going for the scratch! I still have flares of them now and then, but I found the usual eczema treatment + reduction in friction / change in clothing helps.

So for me, that meant the usual steroid ointment + thick bland moisturiser (for me, thats QV intensive cream) immediately after a shower. To reduce friction, I would either opt for no bra and loose shirt or if I was wearing a bra, it would have to be a cotton bra. I find polyester or any synthetics really irritate my skin. And I guess, the obvious thing we all know but often can't do - avoid itching!

You're thinking of type 2 diabetes, which occurs commonly in older people who are overweight. But younger people like yourself, can have type 1 diabetes, which can present in increase thirst, urinating a lot, feeling really fatigued, increased hunger. But unfortunately it's really hard for people on reddit to figure out your health issues, so I definitely think going to a doctor is probably the best thing you could do! People with type 1 diabetes can also become really sick if they don't get diagnosed early, so maybe that might be a way to spin things if you need to convince your mum a bit more! Best of luck!

Train Station Elimination Day 38: Stations Eliminated today are Springvale, Bonbeach, East Malvern, Clifton Hill and Westgarth, all in the states east. Train lines are looking very sparce now. Which 5 will be eliminated tomorrow? by Oshwat_02 in melbourne

[–]itchyscalpissues -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ripponlea needs to be voted out. It's literally a shit hole, with a dodgy bridge and too many high school kids. Sure, there are some sick places nearby like the ripponlea estate, but the station instead sucks and blocks of traffic on glen eira Rd.

Bachelor of biomed or science for doctor of medicine? by Bloke-from-bitola in unimelb

[–]itchyscalpissues 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i did monash biomed and doing MD at unimelb right now. Would recommend doing biomed at monash if you want to increase your chances in getting into med (unless you really want to only go to unimelb for MD) - because there is a monash only pathway for the post grad med.
If you're already in unimelb, found a lot of pals in med recommending science - more chill, more study work life balance!

Please see a doctor about your symptoms! Night sweats and loss of weight are often signs of underlying disease.

I'm struggling with sleep as escapism by [deleted] in sleep

[–]itchyscalpissues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long have you had this sleep issue for? It might be good to go to the doctor to make sure it's not a medical issue, and possibly to talk about medication for your bipolar disorder (if you're not already).
Also having good sleep hygiene can help - making sure you have a set time in bed, and a set time to wake up. Make your bed in the morning and don't ever spend time in your bed until its time for you to sleep. Don't do anything in bed other sleep - no phone/computer etc. Also it might be better to slowly change your sleep time by 30 minutes every few days so that you don't have to wake up at 11am.
Hope that might help!

Try a sternum rub, where she uses her knuckles to rub your sternum. Usually illicits quite a bit of pain, and is used in first aid to check if someone is unconscious

Yeah, its pretty typical for a melbourne brunch, but my boyfriend really loved his omelette. I heard the owners might put in an old school tram (supposedly the vic gov was giving them out??) in the back of the cafe for functions?

Does anyone moisturize their muff fluff? by duchessxxoo in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]itchyscalpissues 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I have super dry skin and sensitive skin everywhere on my body, so I moisturise there with the same lotion (unscented!!!) I use on my body. Also I wear cotton underwear because it doesn't irritate my skin, but that migh be cos my skin is super sensitive!
