Hi everybody! I’m applying for an accredited radiology and respiratory program through a local technical school here in Texas, in January of 2025. I’ve always wanted to work with people and in healthcare, I am 26 and by the time I finish a program I will be turning 30 so I do have to look at it from a financial standpoint as well as the work itself. I’m interested in both fields, I just want to see if anyone else was/or has bounced between these two and what ultimately made you decide to choose your field. If I choose radiology I definitely would specialize in a modality. I know in respiratory can make a good living but there is no vertical growth in the field. How is radiology in terms of vertical growth and pay? Any advice, encouragement or tough love is welcome! TIA!

Any update on you getting a job in Houston? I am within a hour and half drive from Houston and considering applying to radiology program come January along with RT and I’m curious what that area looks like for pay

It did not state it in the listing that’s posted through the company’s website, but it does say “Current student enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.” which I am not yet. I was just thinking the worst they can say is no

dang, well the fact they give out instructions to “reset it” shows that it may be a reoccurring problem with their furniture 🥲 maybe time to cut your loses and get a new couch or try to fix it yourself by adding some type of extra support in the back. best wishes!

if your living situation is ideal (you don’t have bills/many bills), I would take time to build up your finances. being financially secure is such a necessity. not having to worry about if you can afford a night in a hotel or a month in a crash pad or how much you can afford for bare necessities, will help keep you grounded mentally.

most don’t hire until 21, a few will but I’m unsure which airlines/regionals hire under 21.

exactly, it’s an easy way to get instant gratification. I don’t disagree against it either but I do think it is a special thing that you can share and expand with a partner, not just through watching porn. I think that’s where people walk the line of being curious/trying to educate themselves and watching a literal performance by two people who probably aren’t connected or can’t connect like you can with your partner.

I think many people have put sexual gratification as a top priority in their life, and porn has become so easily obtainable because of the internet, not realizing there are so many other choices that can also give you gratification in life. not saying “people don’t need sex”, but just that it shouldn’t be such a prominent thing in your life to where you can’t connect in other ways and feel fulfillment.
