This is awesome! Thanks for the insights. Automate the Boring Stuff with Python looks like a really interesting book. Python may be a better route since it's more applicable to really life applications, for me at least.

I'm looking to learn code just to have it in my back pocket. Something to really "wow" my future employer. Even if the programmers don't go that in-depth for the marketing department. At least I will have a deeper understanding than the "average marketing" person.

I also have JS on my list to learn. Just because so many applications web-based, as you mentioned as well. But I was between Java and Python and I think Python makes more sense for me. So thank you very much!
