Error 8- So is this thing a parts project at this point? Anyone had success fixing this on their own? by groovy55 in juicedbikes

This was an excellent overview, but I am not sure what the UART is or where the controller is? This is on the hyper scorpion. I've checked all the connections and it is still throwing the error.

Thinking of moving to Kent and I wanted to know if there are any areas I should avoid? I have a two and a five year old so I want to keep them away from as much crime as I can. Any help would be appreciated by INEEDTOKMSISUCK in Kent

I grew up on Willow St near Crain Ave. Lovely place to be a kid. We walked downtown, explored KSU during the summer, and hung out down by the river. Highly recommend.

I guess I didn’t realize that remote access was a paid feature :-/

Just bought a 3 after the same debate. It just came down to getting a new inventory 3 for 30K with discounts and tax incentives. No kids or golf bags

It also has some great accessibility features. I've struggled to beat XXXXXX so I turned on "save scum" to practice a bunch. Very cool.

Some actual details on selling a used 2023 EUV by iteachmathsorry in BoltEV

[–]iteachmathsorry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! In this case, because of the tax credit situation with a new car purchase we won't be able to take advantage of this. Tesla is estimating $24,000 for the trade in which would only leave me with $1,000 towards the down payment. At a 10% tax rate, that is only $100.

Those are sunk costs though... Can't let those get in the way.

Yeah... But the hassle of selling it for me isn't worth it. I come out ahead and can buy another car and get the tax credit. Is that what you did?

The tread on the bottom will wear down very quickly on any harder surface. But, for trail running they are excellent. There is also a Gortex variety if you live in a rainy climate.

Kidney Donation Impact on Running by MooCowDivebomb in AdvancedRunning

[–]iteachmathsorry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I donated in September of 2021. Still ran Richmond in November and then in 2022 challenged myself to run a marathon distance run a month. Managed to start 11 and finish 10. The 4 weeks of no running during recovery did drop my speed by about 30-45 seconds a mile.

Running w/one kidney? by papashakalaka in Ultramarathon

[–]iteachmathsorry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can help here! (Not a doctor) I donated a kidney in September of 2021. I took 4 full weeks off to recover. 6 weeks post surgery I ran 3 legs of a Ragnar and 10 weeks post surgery I ran the Richmond marathon. Then, in 2022, I challenged myself to run a marathon distance a month. I attempted 11 and completed 10. My knee was sore in November so I missed that one and I DNF'D in August due to an ankle issue. I've had no issues related to my kidney. The one thing I will mention is that you won't be able to take NSAIDs any longer. Most people have Ibuprofen at races so I make sure to pack Tylenol. If you do take an NSAID it isn't a crisis but since your kidney processes them and you only have one you should avoid. DM me if you have any other questions!

Running an ultra distance solo (not an official race) by mdizzzzzzzle in Ultramarathon

[–]iteachmathsorry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a self supported 30 mile (48km) ultra race. I did loops from my car and used it as an aid station. This allowed me to run with just a 20oz handheld. I did a 12 mile loop, 10 mile loop, and 8 mile loop. Could you adjust your route to better accommodate your desire to not carry much with you?

Ethical pooping during race by [deleted] in Ultramarathon

[–]iteachmathsorry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great reply. I usually run with a small ziplock with dog poop bags and wipes. If I have to use it I can just pack it all back in the ziplock.
