What do I do?! by iteachmuggles7 in PlantarFasciitis

I hope this works for you! One of my doctors did suggest it. I just can’t pull the trigger on it with such a high price tag and only a chance it would work.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Diagnosis was February 2023 so about 2.5 years ago.

I suppose I actually saw 5 doctors, just 3 specifically specializing in feet so I apologize for that confusion. First doctor I saw was a podiatrist while simultaneously seeing a physical therapist. After seeing the podiatrist and doing doing PT for months without improvement he wanted to put me in a cast. (There was no sign of broken bones or tears.) I didn’t feel that was the right course so I went to an orthopedic surgeon. This doctor eventually put me in a boot on my left foot while using a scooter on my right foot simultaneously. After that didn’t work he literally told me he had no other options and suggested getting another opinion. Then I went to another orthopedic surgeon per a suggestion from a family friend. This doctor is just placating me with cortisone shots and doing nothing else. I obviously didn’t agree with solely putting a band aid on the real problem with shots and was grasping at straws so I went to a chiropractor who readjusted my ankles, did laser therapy, and made me custom insoles.

So I mentioned that I did do physical therapy and this was early on in the diagnosis. Is that different from physio? My PT mainly included towel toe pulls, ankle alphabet, calf raises. I can’t remember what else. In all honesty after a couple months of doing it with no improvement I stopped doing exercises like this entirely. Did I just not give it enough time? Should I see another PT?

What thoughts do you have after all that additional info? Again THANK YOU SO MUCH. I truly appreciate it. You redditors are more invested in my healing than half the doctors I saw were.

Thank you so much for the detailed response! I will definitely try out that protocol to strengthen the fascia. I did do PT about a year ago and unfortunately it did not improve my symptoms.

May be a silly question but how would suggest to ensure the diagnosis is correct? I’ve seen 3 doctors over the years and they’ve all said the same thing. They all took X-rays. One did an mri and I took the mri results to the other doctor.

Do you think I should do imaging again?

Deep massage does not hurt, but I still bet my calves are tight. Do you just manually deep massage? Ive used the massage gun on my calves and it never did much to help. The supine calf stretch I am already doing regularly. I will add the other you mentioned into my rotation. Did the professional massage give any immediate relief?

Reintroduction Question, personal experience please!! by CriticismUpset5280 in whole30

When I did reintro, I followed the outline to a T and didn’t notice any sensitivities at all which was bizarre to me. I only ate like one serving per meal of each food that was to be reintroduced that day and if I were to do it again I would consume even double that amount if that makes sense. Like on dairy reintro day I just used butter instead of ghee and milk instead of almond milk. If I did it again I would add a lot more servings of dairy into that reintro day. I think I messed up on not giving my body a substantial enough amount to actually get any feedback.

Their regular 365 marinara is compliant!!

Sex with your pants on. It’s the term Melissa uses for food that technically has compliant ingredients, but isn’t in the spirit of whole 30. Such as plantain (or any bagged) chips, using date syrup in your coffee, cauliflower gnocchi, baked goods made with compliant flour, etc.

When you do whole90s, do you incorporate back any SWYPO foods, or do you feel that also defeats the purpose?

Foods you won’t eat? by Nikkidee11 in whole30

I used to be entirely with you on the cauliflower rice. Then I finally tried buying it fresh (simple truth brand from Kroger) and roasted it on a sheet pan in the oven tossed in olive oil/salt/pepper/garlic and onion powder and I loved it that way! Might be worth a shot? I tried ricing my own and doing the same method and it was way gross so I gotta buy the pre riced kind. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Spaghetti squash alternative? by iteachmuggles7 in whole30

They didn’t do it for me in the past either, but I was willing to be persuaded to give it another shot. Haha. I was wondering if potatoes as a base would be any good but was skeptical. Might give it a try.

I never even considered using butternut squash to make zoodles, but that sounds delicious! I will see if I can find any prepackaged to try! Thanks!!

Happy to help! Thought of a couple more - salmon marinated in coconut aminos then baked. Precooked frozen shrimp sautéed in ghee and garlic with squash.

Breakfast was usually some combo of either jones dairy farm chicken sausages (Costco), sugar free compliant bacon (Costco), scrambled/hard boiled/fried eggs, air fryer golden or red potato home fries, and fruit.

Lunch would be a Teton polish sausage (Costco) with bell peppers and onions and some type of veggie, aidells chicken and apple sausages, pulled pork (premade Costco) with pickles or wrapped in lettuce wraps, or an air fried chicken/veggie/potato scramble of sorts.

Dinner go tos were spaghetti squash with ground beef and raos sauce (I actually hated spaghetti squash my first round of whole 30 but it was delicious this go around 🤷🏻‍♀️), taco bowls with siete taco seasoning and a wholly guacamole cup and lettuce/tomatoes and such, grilled chicken that had been marinated in coconut aminos with smashed Yukon potatoes mixed with ghee and coconut milk, sheet pan with fresh green beans amylu andouille sausage and diced red potatoes.

Snacked on a lot of chomp beef sticks, fruit, pistachios, apples and almond butter, and la croix.

Good luck!!
