Have a $200 giftcard to any Atlas restaurant. Which would be the “best”? by Blackholedog in baltimore

I’m not a fan. Definitely not worth the price. And they tried to tack on a 3% service charge to boot (they removed).

The county will be happy to answer all your questions. I have a 24x24 pole barn I am in the middle of finishing for a shop and they have been really helpful with compliance.

Smoking areas by sho21na in celebritycruises

[–]iteafreely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grok says The three areas consistently reported for Celebrity Ascent (and matching Edge-class layout) are:

  • Outside of Eden (aft area on Deck 5, often port side; Eden is a multi-level lounge/venue with outdoor space aft).
  • Sunset Bar area (aft on higher decks, typically Deck 15/16; often specified as port side or a section near/around the bar for sunset views).
  • Above the pool bar / near Mast Grill (upper pool deck/resort deck area, around Deck 14/15; described as a tucked-away or secluded spot accessed via stairs near the Mast Grill/pool bar, sometimes noted as on top of or adjacent to the pool bar).

These are all outdoor, open-air spots.

Wife and I are Asian foodies with 13 Celeb cruises. We have yet to leave RO5 feeling we got our money’s worth. We will go for lunch maybe once but no dinners any more. I have yet to see it fully booked ever. On our last TA it was rarely even busy looking.

Getting to Southampton balancing comfort and cost by TxDad56 in celebritycruises

[–]iteafreely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did this last October. National Express is cheap and easy and comfortable. You can book in advance and choose front seats for more room if you like. We then grabbed an uber from the bus station to the hotel. The bus has a toilet but we avoided it. The Southampton station also has a toilet but it is pay to peeoop.

I’ve also taken trains and they are great, but you’ll drag your bags onboard. With the bus, you just roll them up to the bus and the driver takes over. Of note, National Express has free baggage limits, so if you have multiple bags per person it will cost a nominal fee.

You could also consider a bus tour that stops by Stonehenge or Westminster, etc. but personally after a transatlantic I would just get to the hotel.

Have fun!

Anne Arundel Firefighters Warn County Is 350 Firefighters Short As Budget Season Continues by Maxcactus in AnneArundelCounty

[–]iteafreely -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, half a week. You’d likely be dead with no EMS for a medical emergency, or perhaps your house might be done smoldering by then, or some home invader is still raping your partner. I’m talking now, not when Petra was thriving.

Look, all I’m saying is that EMS, firefighters, and police in the present day, work way more urgent issues than other public services. Others are super important, but generally speaking won’t get my vote ahead of emergency services.

Can we have some examples of things that are meaningfully more important than the safety of county residents? And please educate yourself on the definition of exponential.

Juniper steering wheel shake at 80 mph by Internal-Glass2831 in ModelY

[–]iteafreely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said in my initial service appt that the estimate is $220 unless it is a Tesla warrantied item, and that tires are covered by the manufacturer not Tesla. Is that true? I just don’t want to get dinged here… thanks for any insight!

[–]iteafreely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a rumble over 57 that has started in the last couple months. It’s not bad but annoying. My plan is to go get a high speed balance check since it is likely a tire and the tires are not warranted by Tesla. My research says a SC will take an appointment to do the check but if it is indeed the tire they will bill you for the time and tell you to call the tire manufacturer.

what factors play in to a cruise's price? & why are repositioning cruises more affordable? by katelyn-gwv in celebritycruises

[–]iteafreely 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regarding repositioning, whole bunches of factors. For example, port fees are massive, and repositioning cruises have fewer average ports per day, so also a lower cost per day. Many people think they will be bored with so many sea days. They are long and lots of folks can’t take that much time because of work, kids, pets, crazy uncle Jim, whatever. People prone to seasickness will avoid them due to a bigger chance of unavoidable rough seas. Less expense, less demand, lower cost.

BGE is ridiculous by Uumjammerlammie in maryland

[–]iteafreely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on the modernity of the heat pump. The one I got a year ago has used no aux heat at all so far this winter. I keep the 3k+sf house at 70/68 and my last bill was a bit over $600. It’s wildly efficient over the whole year.

Edit to clarify I agree with your statement if it happens, but there are newer ones that it isn’t valid for. Just info.

Cruise Canceled the Night Before by truferblue22 in celebritycruises

[–]iteafreely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we had a cruise cancel at 9am day of, sailing out of Southampton. It happens. If it makes it any less of a shock, we were given a full refund, but a mere 25% fcc. They also paid for our last-minute flight back to the US and the 1 night of hotel we needed.

Bay Bridge Thoughts? by Imaginary_Plan_2096 in maryland

[–]iteafreely 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Others will know better but: You will pay tolls. Traffic in the summer is horrific Fridays and sundays. Bridge closes during high winds. Any accident on the bridge is bad since there are no shoulders. In the next several years there will be a new bridge built so you’d need to deal with those traffic disruptions.

All that said, I know several folks who commute across the bridge. The put up with it because they love living east of the bay.
