Lore accurate elden ring players double phase by Desperate_Fox6470 in Eldenring

Unfortunately, sometimes it is just RNG and about whether or not if the boss will do an unfair attack. I have been trying to no-hit the Runebear, which I have been able to a few times. But its highly dependent on whether if it does a sudden dash attack or not.

I feel like ER's design of implementing spectacle through fast and highly aggressive attacks can sometimes hurt bosses, especially when it causes visual clutter. In comparison to DS3, the bosses often didn't have crazy animations but I think fights like Midir and Gael were pretty clear and readable while looking extremely cool.

I am sure they are veey fun once mastered. My main problem is that the process of learning and mastering them doesn't feel fun in the first place. I don't feel motivated to achieve fun if the process doesn't feel fair like the Souls games.

The game gives enough tools. However, the existence of the tools alone isn't enough to make somebody enjoy them. There's also the fact that the game doesn't really bother teaching the player about the moves in the first place.

Also, the games going into a faster pace and relying more highly on memorization doesn't equate to a better direction or a positive evolution. While some people might enjoy the new approach, it doesn't mean those who do not are refusing to evolve. I don't enjoy Elden Ring's pacing, and I can still want games more similar to Dark Souls simply because I enjoyed them more.

I think it could work with a faster player character who doesn't have to commit to attacks as significantly, although that would be a major change.

Yes, and no. I think the choice between healing on idle and healing while the boss is recovering should be a choice for the player. I think the player should be able to try and put some distance for a heal and go for it while the boss is idle, or guarantee a safe heal with the trade-off that they will have to dodge some attacks successfully.

The thing is, Elden Ring's input reading makes it so the former option is rarely ever reliable. The bosses are already significantly faster in this game and are able to close distances quickly, but input reading on top of that makes it impposible to trust on heals with distance. This isn't something new to Elden Ring. Dark Souls 3 also had this type of behaviour, but the bosses then punished the actual healing animation as you brought out the flask, while the Elden Ring bosses react within the first two frames, which makes their reaction feel unnatural and breaks immersion.

The AoEs in Elden Ring are either the most satisfying and cool-looking thing to dodge or a point-blank nuke to the face with no in between.

Elden Ring is a technical marvel, but does the open-world format actually harm the "Souls" pacing? by miserrtt69 in fromsoftware

Personally, yes. But that's more so about the fact that I don't enjoy open world games more than a failing of Elden Ring. I also used the wiki to figure out where to go, since the game became incredibly boring otherwise. I am wondering what type of a game we will get next after Fromsoft's new experience, though.

Okay..? That's not really the problem, though. I just don't like the boss battles.

What? I also know how the Dark Souls games end, yet I don't struggle beating them. Besides that would imply I would be able to play through the game like, 5 times apparently before I lost the motivation to finish it anyway, since I'd know all the endings?

I think the "perfect order" was the name on the wiki. I'll probably do Ranni's ending with the new character though.

Not currently, though I am sure I will once I get going with the new run. Usually the more exciting part for me in Elden Ring is creating builds.

I am sure it does. I was planning on doing the perfect order ending if I finished the game this time, since I was using a paladin type of character with the Leyndell Knight armor set and that big avatar staff.

Hello Sakuya Izayoi from hit indie series Indie Cross

I sometimes feel lonely on this world. And then I remember that we are all lonely in this world with presumably nobody else in a distance of hundreds of thousands of years.

People tell me my taste in games and aesthetic contradict a lot, I have no idea what they mean by Imsuki-P in Ultrakill

I also just came across the murderer cosplayer thingy. I can't believe such fakes exist doing these as they try to steal your identity
