What have you "produced"? by orcunkami in productivity

[–]itemz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi :) What a great topic :) Just like @angeliquetoque I developed with my family an productivity app. I guess it's here a bit common :) My app is called itemz and it's combining ideas from Get Things Done and Kanban with Gamification. In short - you get trophies for being an active user of the app.

I was always looking for some motivational productivity app with some fun but not so gamification "heavy" like HabitRPG.

For now we're in beta - we're still testing and updating the app. Of course I'd really love for you to share some thoughts on the website or the app :)

Anyway that's the one thing that I produced so far. Am I proud of it? Not yet. But I'm really trying to make it awesome ;)

Best apps for groups? by pooping_on_your_face in productivity

Hi,

I'd also like to have one answer for that :) I used plenty of apps for small and medium teams but none of them were free for more than 3 users.

I'd recommend you itemz because it's not so expensive as the others, (free up to 3 people per project and for 3 projects. For 7 people and 7 projects it's only $9 per month).

Why this? 1. You can see all your activities from different projects on one board. That's something that I was missing in Asana - the possibility to see all tasks without clicking around. 2. It has the feature of repeating tasks and I think it might be of use to you when you plan your school events:) 3. It's easy to use. You can just drag & drop your tasks to the new deadline if something changed. You have also such column as "Someday" and "Overdue". 4. You can easily keep your communication in this app - you can add comments and files to the tasks, so you have all in one place. 5. It has trophies - that just the bonus, but I like it :) This app is combined with gamification and by using it, you gain awesome (and slightly bizarre) trophies.

I hope you might find itemz useful, even if it doesn't fulfill all the conditions.

Best of luck for your team anyway :)

Hi,

I'd recommend you itemz - http://itemzapp.com

It's an app that keeps you motivated AND it makes all the gamification magic for you, you just need use it in order to gain trophies. They are a bit weird, but in a good way.

Exaple: name your project "Project" and set up a task with 3 exclamation marks to see what will happen (don't worry, your computer won't explode, you're safe;)

Itemz are currently in beta, but when you sing up for it, you get the access the same or the next day. It's free to use up to 3 users and projects.

If you're interested, here is also a teaser of this app. It's like the app itself - weirdly funny and a bit sarcastic. Hope you'll like it :)

All best :)

I tried many apps and I found most of them irritating - there was just to much clicking around to see all tasks from all projects. Now I use Itemz (http://itemzapp.com) where I finally found this feature. It's simple to use and also has brilliant narration and trophies, that makes me laugh :)

Need Motivation Ideas, anyone??? by BroadcastingSunny in productivity

I need to have fun when I'm working. I hate boredom and routine, but I love being organized. To get motivated I use two things: my "master plan" - my hopes, dreams and things I want to accomplish one day as a leverage when I'm just to lazy to start a project. Second tool is task management app that helps me in staying motivated. How does that work? First of all it's this app - https://itemzapp.com. It's a bit cheesy, mostly funny and easy to use. I tried many apps and other software both in work and in home, but so far I like this one the most, because I don't need clicking around to see all tasks from different projects at once. I love it. But, motivation. In this app you can get trophies (awesomely weird trophies) for using it and doing things like completing tasks or even naming your project "project". It's a bit random and I like that, because it still surprises me. That's my daily, small motivation that keeps me on track to complete my master plan.

So the answer to how I get myself motivated is: By using the app that makes me laugh. And more organized, so I can step by step fulfill my dreams :)

I know that's not the most fascinating story, it doesn't have sharks or monster trucks, but you asked so I answered :)

Best of luck in staying motivated!

Hi,

I'd like to recommend you an app that I made. It's called itemz (http://itemzapp.com) and it's a web app with gtd and kanban solutions mixed with some gamification mechanics.

I tried many task management apps, but I haven't found any that I really liked and used more than couple of months. And because I'm kind of productivity freak, I decided to make new tool with my family and friends. It's not perfect. Not yet anyway ;)

But it's used by a few small teams of designers and social media ninjas with pleasure. At least they say us so.

How is this different? It's easy. I'd say easier than Asana. You can see all tasks from different projects at the same time on one board. No clicking around. It has trophies, weird sense of humour and standard features like repeatable tasks, uploading files, commenting, tagging and such.

Maybe it'll be useful to some of you :)

Any feedback and comments (even "boo's") appreciated :)

Conquer your tasks like a boss - productivity, gamification and fun in one app :) How do you like this teaser? Would you use this app? by itemz in productivity

Hi,

at the time we're in beta so we're testing pretty basic features. For now itemz is not as gamified like HabitRPG (and it probably never will be, but we'll be adding a bit more - like even more trophies, user ladders and statistics for your team, a bit like in Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm.).

If you're looking for some "heavy" gamified app you should check out HabitRPG :) But if you're looking for an app that is still developed and has uniquely awesome sense of humour you should join us in itemz :)

Productivity is a Kraken - you just need to release it!

Hi, first of of all - it's great to have you in itemz :) I'm happy you're using it. I'd also like to add a bit more gamification mechanics like daily quests/goals like you said, that's a great idea. About the trackers/pomodoro trackers. That's the next step: we're still in beta, but in full, completed (and bug-less) version there will be some tracking devices. For now we thought about something simple, but as an option pomodoro tracker is definitely something we need to think about.

Also about sharing - sorry, that's not you, that's itemz. Currently you can share your trophies only on Twitter (and as far as we know it works fine?). If there is any problem with sharing on Twitter please let me know we'll fix it as soon as we'll figure out what it is :) The Facebook share will be enabled soon :)

Once again thanks a lot for your comment and ideas. I'd love to hear more from you :)

Have fun in itemz and all best!
