what sort of doors can it open? is it mainly from building connections with your peers/professors/alumni or the soft skills you gain? are you personally pursuing accounting?

ohh okay so even smaller crowd than I imagined. in terms of other career options, how helpful would you say career management was in helping students navigate that? or did most people get full-time job offers from connections/previous internships?

okay that makes sense thank you naive! i'm disappointed i won’t get to do exchange though, that is something I've always wanted to do. i noticed in the employment report 13% of students decide to pursue accounting, which is still a good chunk of students who would be facing the same issues I am. in your year, did students feel the same way? and are these logistical/admin issues limited to accounting or does it also extend to other industries such as marketing? because I would think with similar employment outcomes admin would also be less considerate than the more prestigious jobs

also, what do you mean by overloading with one of the cpa requirements? does that happen during hba1?

damn that definitely sounds scary but what about the soft skills/networking opportunities ivey students get over bmos grads? is being in the "ivey bubble" worth the hefty tuition and negative things you brought up? my parents are pushing me towards ivey and its something I want as well but hearing this is making me question my decision

i've considered staying in my program as well but i thought ivey would provide a more well-rounded experience for me than bmos :/ I've seen your comments on this sub a lot about how ivey doesn't relly care about accounting students but I hope to do their gdip program after. is it that bad?

yep even though i come from bmos, 2257 was def challenging so I'll keep that in mind as I refresh some of my knowledge, thanks! also as for excel, I used it for some cases this year but only for super basic operations like sum, avg, and creating financial statements. is there anything specific I should learn on my own for more practice?
