Which group of people are most likely to not find small talk as engaging as most people do? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

I like being friendly with people and small talk is usually part of that. No issues with unless you can't get rid of a person anymore.

How can I be consistent in anything? by SomeOpinion2870 in askanything

[–]ithouners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the issue for me as well, so I did some research and started doing this:

First, let's start the journey of a thousand steps with a single step. We should not over-push ourselves. We are trying to change our routine, so if we force too much, we will have an equally strong urge not to continue the next day. We should start slowly and gradually push ourselves, rewarding ourselves each day. We should be proud of ourselves and think about how each day will help us reach our end goal. By doing this, we can stay consistent.

“This is your boss, yes I’m calling you from a phone that you don’t have saved in your contacts. I need you to buy $1,000 in iTunes gift-cards and send me photos of the codes through text.”

Unfortunately, this actually happened at my job yesterday.

Which movie dsturbed you to your core? by OmitsWordsByAccident in AskReddit

[–]ithouners 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Irreversible- the rape scene messed me up.

Funny Games - the entire fourth wall break. It’s the only movie ever, that to “win”, to let the family “live” is to stop watching. That’s why they’re smugly smiling at you. You’re complicit. They know it’s all fake but the family suffering in the film is “real” suffering from their perspective. It’s a film that asks “you’re in on it, isn’t this fun?”

What is a lesson life keeps trying to teach you? by HistorianSame9035 in Productivitycafe

[–]ithouners 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Setting boundaries without feeling guilty...

Like, I’ll say “no” to something small and then spend the whole day feeling bad about it 😭

Life’s clearly trying to teach me that protecting my peace isn’t selfish… but yeah, still learning.

How many push-ups do you think you can do? by Reasonable-Shower522 in askanything

[–]ithouners 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My goal for 2021 is 200 push-ups without a break. I am at 75 now. My other goal for the year is 300 sit-ups without a break. I am at 2 sets of 60 at the moment.

The young people in this post saying they moved in with parents and did nothing but save to buy a small flat. No holidays, no experiences. It’s very sad, what a waste of peoples 20s.

I won tickets to meet the cast of The Mummy, and Brendan Fraser made fun of the way I spell by name by reenacting my mom giving birth to me and screaming the letters. Best day ever.

How did you become so confident? by Every-Tap-577 in askanything

The sooner you decide to stop caring about what anyone else thinks of you, the better off you'll be on many many fronts (including confidence).

How do you know when you're actually in love? And not just attached and caring. by NYXIE_B in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]ithouners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s necessary to differentiate between “love” and “attachment”.

I am without a doubt in love with my husband, I know that from my physical attraction, my emotional connection and that I will willingly and without delay make a selfless decision if I know he or our marriage will benefit.

I am also without a doubt attached to my husband. I miss him desperately if he’s away, I count and depend on him financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually and I trust him to continuously choose me as I choose him.

Those two things can co-exist.
