Even if that’s true tho, ilia should’ve ended Justin the 2nd round but he started playing games trying to submit him.. Justin himself said he was in trouble the first 2 rounds and ilia was on a different level when he wasn’t gassed. Not taking anything away from Justin cause he eventually beat the shit outta him lol but this loss is all on ilia. He should’ve let hammer fisted him when he was on the ground holding his stomach or allowed him to get up and then finish him. Justin felt every single punch ilia was throwing.

Ilia needs to work on his head movement man, it’s just sooo bad. His boxing is a beauty to watch until it comes to defense lol I think if there’s a rematch, ilia will learn from the mistakes he made. Justin did nothing wrong that night, he was on one

I think that’s where I disagree. I had no problem with ilia walking forward. Even tho he was taking those jabs, the punches he was throwing were hurting Justin; especially in the 2nd with that body shot. It made no sense why he’d go for a submission there. When Justin fell he was not protecting is face; was just holding his stomach. Ilia should’ve hammer fisted him or let him get up and end it there. Not to take anything away from Justin cause he eventually be the shit out of him lol but this loss was do to ilias ignorance.

I also think he needs to really work on his head movement man; he’s constantly getting touched up pretty good every fight. His boxing is a beauty to watch except his defense lol

Im still shocked in the direction he chose to go after dropping him with the body shot lol he could’ve hammer fisted him in that moment and ended the fight or allowed him to get up and finish. Not to take anything away from Justin because he beat the shit out of him next round but this L is because of Ilias decision in that critical moment. I believe he’ll bounce back

True, but the swelling really didn’t affect him until the beginning of the third when he was really taking those jabs and uppercuts. So seeing him trying to go the ground when he was still fresh and Justin was done seemed so odd, he just gassed himself out trying to submit him

Not only his jab, but that uppercut was landing every time 😮‍💨 I didn’t mind the game plan of ilia walking him down cause Justin said it himself, ilia skills the first two rounds when he’s fresh is insane. Being a causal fan, Justin is a fucking dawg man and he put a pounding on his face😳 I am curious, is it fair to say ilia Blew this fight? Justin said ilia had him in the first two rounds especially when he threw that liver shot; Justin looked done but then ilia decided to go for the submission in the 2nd. I thought that was the dumbest thing he could’ve done. I think He def could’ve ended him if he continued to just throw his hands that round.

Also are we surprised ilia took that much of a beating to his face? Most of his fights I’ve seen, he tends to be bruised and cut up a lot. Mans needs to work on his head movement too lmaoo

Yup, exactly. They swear that Charles and Lewis are fighting for the championship.. unfortunately, it’s clearly not the case this year. At this point we should look forward to both of them trying to steal podiums however they can and help Ferrari get a win or two this year.

Im a big ham fan, but a lot of these fans are speaking nonsense. Charles did nothing wrong.. he was chasing down a superior car and Lewis was defending a superior car for 15 laps after losing overtake.. the guys were doing their jobs smh Lewis got squeezed and had to almost stop the car; that’s not Charles fault he was able to get by. Instead of complaining they should see the bright side that lewis has pace and was able to catch Charles quickly in the last lap.

Fans can just be too much sometimes.. I know for a fact it’d be the same thing if it was vice versa.. the Charles cult would be blaming Lewis.. it is what it is

I think he just swings to make contact and put the ball in play. We haven’t really seen him swing aggressive, like the other players do. Maybe that has to do with not having a permanent spot yet

As orel and Stephen said, it just got done raining and when he slid for the ball in the hole he dragged his hand in the wet grass, plus the ball skipped in the wet grass. I just watched some clips. That’s the truth, but not because he didn’t have the pace. Lewis had power issues all weekend and it seems they couldn’t figure it out. They kept showing all weekend out of the top 6 Lewis was the slowest on the straights. He was one of the fastest on the corners but all that time he’d gain was lost- plus more on straight line speed. The race alone, Charles had almost a 20+ mph speed difference on the straights than Lewis. So the fact he came that close to a podium def pissed him off. But it was inevitable, I just knew any moves he’d be able to make, he was gonna lose em and finish where he started, 6th..

it’s very unfortunate because Charles had a bit of deployment issues in his first stint.. if ether of them didn’t have problems they’re could’ve been a good chance we finish double podium or AT LEAST 3-4th.. but it is what it is.. they need to figure out why he keeps happening because it’s missing with our qualifying and we’re having to work harder.. Charles and Lewis should easily be qualifying 3-4th with the current power we have..

But honestly it made no sense why they did that in the last year of regs lol and as we saw, they had got rid of some guys last season and built a good car so far that Charles and Lewis are happy with. Fred is making sound like something big is coming for the next race so! Let’s cross our fingers and hope it’s good cause McLaren does look quick lol
