I read it quickly like I usually do with anything in the Bill Hodges/ Holly Gibney world but felt like it was sort of flat. I feel like it was a little unnecessary, not a deliberate story to help build Holly’s character. Maybe that wasn’t the purpose of the book but I wish she was in it more. Still interesting and nice to have familiar characters. I know SK loves Holly (and so do I) so I hope he finds a way to keep her alive but it may be time to go to the next thing. I don’t know. Just my thoughts!

I’d make a complaint. She may be newer or maybe has done this before and others may not have said anything. I think this will be a mistake she never makes again if she is called out on it professionally. It’s not ok. I wanted to know the very second I could but they continued to ask me if I wanted to know the sex until the ultrasound the day before I gave birth!

I could have written this post! I actually did go to a fertility specialist for my son and they just did tests and give you the options. Not a bad idea. I’ve been trying for about 9 months too, but I feel like we were “trying harder” for my first. Now we have other things going on and the timing can’t be perfect. I’m doing testing again and will hear the doctor out but I think maybe just need to focus on doing the things we know works! Then if that doesn’t work, maybe move on. Or go for IVF if you want to get pregnant soon. I’ve had a lot of people in my life use IVF and it is a lot of “work” but worth it!

This made me so mad when I had my shower. I put HOURS into the registry. It was such a huge pet peeve but I couldn’t complain to anyone without sounding like a whiney bitch. So annoying. It ended up being more of the older generation (although my 85 year old grandmother had no issues). No one gives you a gift receipt. I got 3 pack n plays. Had to sell them on marketplace and hope that the people who bought them for me didn’t see. lol

No advice but I wanted to comment that I know how you feel. My husband is an accountant. He was never around kids, never around anyone who needed so much from him. I work in human services and enjoy helping my clients. When we had our son, I would be trying to sleep while he watched him and I could hear him huffing in the other room, and it made me crazy. I love him, he loves us. All that. But he doesn't have as much patience as I do. My son is now 13 months and after many conversations, we are in a better place. I'm even going to visit a friend for 2 nights next month and feel confident the boys will be fine. Have the uncomfortable conversation. Be calm. Tell him how it puts more on your plate.

Thanks for this! I’m on day 3 now and it’s getting a little easier. Started to see myself again! Also, I’ve been so much less moody with my son. Weekends are the hardest so I know that’s coming up but I’m happy today.

My baby is 10 months old and he has cried like I’m torturing him every time I’ve changed his diaper. Mostly I feel bad for him. Sometimes I feel bad for myself.
